The amendments passed to the Constitution after the Civil War make this clear. Fifty to sixty years ago, the courts allowed consideration of race to make up for years of racial discrimination against blacks. Remember, Joe Biden was actually elected to the Senate from Delaware on a platform that forcing blacks and whites into the same schools would create "jungles" that would hurt the sturdents.

It has been more than 50 years when race was allowed to be considered. It has been long enough. We've had a black President, a black vice president, many Congressmen, many black Senators, black business leaders and the like. The point is that not all black students deserve a benefit. Not all Hispanics or Asians or Native Americans deserve to be placed ahead of other students. Indeed, white males are underrepresented in Colleges. Does that mean they should get preferential treatment. Who is to make that decision. Is it just statistics?

Clearly, the rule in the Constitution is that no one - NO ONE - should get preferential treatment based upon race, religion or national origin or gender.

Remember that all the hysterics who are screaming about this ruling are basically worried that their favored group will lose preferences.
Jeffhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17644131728945210716noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8947952174912199011.post-82022306187316485912023-06-20T15:13:00.002-04:002023-06-20T15:13:22.690-04:00Hey --It was only abit over a million dollars in taxes
Hunter Biden has now admitted that he filed tax returns that knowingly and intentionally understated the amount of taxes he owed by more than one million dollars. ONE MILLION DOLLARS!!!!!!!

T hink for a moment what would happen to you if the IRS found out that you had cheated by filing false tax returns that cheated the government out of more than a million dollars. Think you would get a sweetheart deal that let you avoid prison time? The Federal Sentencing Commission sets the minimum penalties for such a crime. The specified minimum - even with all sorts of mitigating factors - is still more than 10 years in prison.

Hunter Biden is not going to get ANY time in prison. NONE. I guess it really helps to have a President as your daddy.

Look, Joe Biden was involved with some of the places where Hunter got huge amounts of cash, and Joe didn't report any of that income either. He's the president so he can't be indicted while he's in office.

I'm disgusted by the obvious double standard applied
Jeffhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17644131728945210716noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8947952174912199011.post-1205140266404465042023-04-29T14:47:00.000-04:002023-04-29T14:47:23.467-04:00So Who Will Fox Pick to Replace Tucker Carlson
Last week Fox News dumped Tucker Carlson. I'm sire you've heard my favorite (and by that I mean the most ridiculous) complaint by the Dems and their supporters in the media, namely that new laws in Georgia prohibit anyone passing out water to voters standing in line at the polls. For some unknown reason, it is just assumed that minorities are dissuaded from voting due to thirst while Whites in Georgia are more like camels, able to go for long stretches without water. How ridiculous, Still, it's just another phony claim by the Dems and their media allies.

But have you heard that the Democrats have passed new rules that will bar any delegates at the 2024 convention from New Hampshire. That's right, the Dems are barring votes to the entire state of NH. That's voter suppression on a grand scale, The Dems have done this to New Hampshire voters because the DNC wants the first primary to be in South Carolina instead of NH because Joe Biden doesn't do well in NH.

Imagine for a moment what the media reaction would be to a move by Republicans to bar convention delegates from DC having a say at the 2024 convention. It would be denounced endlessly as racist voter suppression.
Jeffhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17644131728945210716noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8947952174912199011.post-10666674510246774012023-04-27T14:01:00.003-04:002023-04-27T14:01:53.687-04:00Rights For Me But Not for Thee
In general boycotts don't work. It's really impossible to get a sizeable group to boycott a product for a long time. Even so, boycotts remain a big tactic of "social justice" groups. Just a few weeks ago, the NY Times wrote a lengthy article applauding how certain advertisers would not place their ads on the Tucker Carlson show. That's why it's so funny to watch the left wing media outlets condemn as unAmerican the current boycotts against Budweiser for its use of a prominent trans personality to promote Bud Lite. Similarly, the same media is apoplectic about a proposed boycott of Disney for its support of extremist gay activists.

Look, the reality is that Disney and Budweiser are free to use anyone to promote their products, just as other advertisers could chose not to use Tucker Carlson to promote theirs. Consumers are also free to use whatever criteria they want to decide what products to buy. It's ridicuous and hypocritical, however, for media like the Times or NBC to applaud one side and to condemn the other as unAmerican.

Jeffhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17644131728945210716noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8947952174912199011.post-57876498390525596832023-04-19T02:18:00.003-04:002023-04-19T02:18:56.986-04:00Lies vs Lies
Beginner Ny in 2016 and continuing for at least 3 years, CNN and MSNBC reported every day about the ties between the Trump campaign and Russia to fix the 2016 election. By May of 2017, the special prosecutor knew that there was no such conspiracy. In fact, the dossier that was the primary “evidence “ of the conspiracy was a total fraud paid for by Hillary Clinton’s campaign. By August of 2017, MSNBC and CNN knew the claims of Trump Russia collusion were totally untrue. They kept reporting the lies anyway

I mention this because of the reaction today by these two networks to the Fox settlement with Dominion. Oh the horror! Fox reported lies!

Don’t get me wrong. I’m not in favor of tv networks reporting lies. I just can’t take the hypocrisy of the left wing networks feigned my upset at Fox when what they did was 100 times worse.
Jeffhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17644131728945210716noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8947952174912199011.post-32690351070636877882023-03-06T21:02:00.002-05:002023-03-06T21:02:29.576-05:00MSNBC: Mostly Silly Needless BS Coverage
I happened tonight to tune in for a bit to MSNBC.

What a waste of time. As has been the case thff we last 4 times I tuned in, they were discussing ghecoverage of the 2020 election results on Fox News. Really? Is there really an audience that wants to hear nonstop coverage of an event from over two years ago? Even stranger is that much of the MSNBC coverage of supposed lies on FNC consists of nothing more than innuendo and half truths from the gurus on MSNBC.

No wonder the ratings on MSNBC just continue to be in the toilet. Even their core audience must be bored with this

Jeffhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17644131728945210716noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8947952174912199011.post-60042247945532930622023-01-14T13:12:00.001-05:002023-01-14T13:12:21.721-05:00Those Pesky Top Secret Documents
After something like a year of listening to the mainstream media express horror about the classified documents that were at Trump's Florida home, it's interesting to see the same media response to the classified documents that Joe Biden stored at his Delaware home after leaving office as Vice President. It's even more instructive to compare those reactions to the minimal coverage given to Hillary Clinton's illegal storage of ALL of her email correspondence as Secretary of State on a server kept in the bathroom of a computer consultants office (which included huge numbers of classified documents).

For example, Trump had documents that were under the guard of the Secret Service. Biden's documents were in his garage which ws normally locked but unguarded. Clinton's were in a bathroom in a completely unguarded location.

Trump's documents were part of a file that was known to the national archives which had directed additional securityfor them. Both Biden and Clinton did not tell the government that they had classified documents.

Trump had the power to declassify the documents and he claims that he did just that. Neither Clinton nor

Biden had that powerr.

The jmedia went crazy over Trump docuements and has said little about Biden's.The double standard is appalling.

Jeffhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17644131728945210716noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8947952174912199011.post-2209694473220460812022-09-08T18:19:00.004-04:002022-09-08T18:19:37.840-04:00Elizabeth II -- Always Dignified
Queen Elizabeth has passed away. The news of the Queen's demise was announced in London in typical fashion: dignified and reserved. I'm in my seventies, but I cannot remember any British sovereign other than Elizabeth. During her long reign, there were all sorts of events, but her basic character always came through. She personified dignity.

I mention all this because it pains me to compare Elizabeth to the clowns that occupy the oval office in the White House. In the years I remember, the personal qualities of our presidents have gone downhill (if such a thing is possible.) Sure, the first president I remember was John Kennedy who apparently spent the majority of his time in office looking for new conquests in the bedroom. He was followed by Lyndon Johnson who in his own dignified way used to show displeasure with staff or other people by meeting with them while he was on the toilet in the bathroom. After a short term recovery of the dignity of the presidency from Nixon to Bush, we got Bill Clinton who used the Oval Office to bed interns, etc. George W. Bush put some dignity back into the office as did Obama. Then came Trump who seemed like the least dignified president ever. Of course, Joe Biden is even worse than Trump. He's blatantly dishonest, seems to lust after young girls and is just generally disgusting.

By the end of World War II, the USA had clearly become much more powerful than the UK. Will our leaders ever manage to pass the British monarchy when it comes to acting in an appropriate manner. It sure doen't seem like it.
Jeffhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17644131728945210716noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8947952174912199011.post-69941308863974030842022-09-02T00:05:00.001-04:002022-09-02T00:05:40.753-04:00It's Funny But very Sad
Did you see Joe Biden's big speech in Philadelphia tonight? I doubt it. The main networks didn't carry it. That basically means that only true believers watched it on cable news. And did Biden address the main issues facing the country: the failing economy being hit by inflation of the sort not seen in four decades, soaring energy prices that are squeezing those with lower incomes, the huge wealth transfer that occurred when Biden forgave student loans for wealthy college graduates (which will have to be made up for by taxing the poor and working class Americans), the Russian, Chinese and Iranian threats to our county, etc. OF COURSE NOT!!!!! Biden can't talk about how he's managed these crises because he hasn't done anything to overcome these problems. Instead, Biden spoke about saving Democracy from the threat of Republicans. Seriously, while the Democrats' toadies in the media spend 24/7 discussing a manufactured crisis about documents that Trump had in his office guarded by the Secret Service, Biden is talking about the terrible threat to Democracy posed by Republicans who have no power to speak of in Washington. Biden is in the White House while both the Senate and House are controlled by the Dems. What a joke.

I certainly hope that no one fell for this malarkey (to use one of Joey's favorite words)

The speech was so ridiculous and dishonest that all I can say in response is "Let's go Brandon"!!!!!!!!
Jeffhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17644131728945210716noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8947952174912199011.post-36967195605420287812022-07-28T17:51:00.004-04:002022-07-28T17:51:48.815-04:00A Republican Recession or a Democrat Economic Surge?
The GDP for the second quarter was announced today. It showed the second consecutive decline in output. This time it was a decline of 0.9%. Under the traditional definition of a recession (two consecutive quarters of declining output), the US economy is now in recession. If you read the news articles, however, the media is saying that we aren't yet in a recession. Huh? That's like telling a patient that his temperature is 102 degrees but he doesn't have a fever.

The real difference is that a Democrat is president. If we had a Republican president, all we would be hearing today is about the terrible recession facing the country. With Biden in office, we have a recession and high inflation at the same time, and it's no problem according to the media.

It's really sad because even the financial media is reporting this as a political matter. In the past, the financial media was mostly unbiased. Not anymore.
Jeffhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17644131728945210716noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8947952174912199011.post-1705033759731130642022-07-04T14:38:00.001-04:002022-07-04T14:38:10.637-04:00Protecting Big Oil
Here's a quick question. Don't think about it just say whatever comes to mind first.

Which party protects the big oil companies and guarantees them huge profits?

a. Democrats

b. Republicans

c. Both

d. Neither

If you've been conditioned by years of phony media stories, you likely said b. Republicans. The truth though is that it is the Dems who are the principal protector of big oil and its profits.

Think about it. When Trump and the Republicans were in power, federal limitations on drilling and pipelines were removed. That brought much more oil and gas to market and the increased supply brought the price down and kept it there. As soon as Biden and the Dems took office, the blocked a series of pipelines (which cut oil supplies by about a million barrels per day) and limited drilling locations and methods (which also cut supplies by about another million barrels per day.) That two million barrels lost each day is about 10% of the US consumption rate. The major reduction in oil and gas supplies created a shortage and resulted in higher and higher prices. It's a big part of the current inflation we all suffer from. Not everyone suffers though. The big oil companies are selling less oil each day, but they are getting at least twice as much for the oil they are still selling. Their profits are going through the roof thanks to the Dems and their misguided policies that hurt the average American and favor the big oil companies.

Remember this truth the next time some Dem rails against big oil. They're lying.
Jeffhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17644131728945210716noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8947952174912199011.post-8454948390964329302022-05-23T16:33:00.004-04:002022-05-23T16:33:33.709-04:00New American China Policy Enunciated By Biden -- Incomprehensible
In the past the USA has had certain policies that were strategically vague. Our adversaries were not supposed to know what the USA would do in certain important circumstances.

President Biden has modified this. Now American foreign policy operates under a strategic incomprehensibility. Not only do our adversaries not know what we would do in certain situations; now we ourselves don't know what we would do in most situations.

Biden was speaking about China and Taiwan. Long-standing American policy is to keep vague whether US troops would defend Taiwan were Beijing to invade. Biden said that we would deploy troops, but within an hour or two explained that our policy remained unchanged. Huh?

Hey, it's only a small country, right. Taiwan can't matter right?

Biden is an incompetent moron --- RIGHT

Jeffhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17644131728945210716noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8947952174912199011.post-7926673023263755572022-05-16T16:44:00.001-04:002022-05-16T16:44:20.150-04:00Steps By Biden and the Dems to Stop Inflation Do NOT Exist
Ass i write this, the biggest problem facing the US economy is inflation. It started zooming upward about six months after Biden took office. America was told not to worry: inflation was transitory. Meanwhile, since it was supposedly transitory, inflation did not give rise to any counter measures by Biden or the Democrats.

After six months of transitory inflation, it was undeniable that inflation was gathering force rather than disappearing as the Biden transitory meme predicted. At that point, one would have expected Bid or the Democrats in Congress to do something to fight this economic scourge. But they haven't done anything. Biden's sole move to fight inflation came after oil and natural gas prices doubled. Biden could have resumed the Trump policies that led to a major growth in production of American oil and gas; that alone would have undone nearly all the increase in energy prices. But no, Biden instead chose to release oil from our emergency reserves of oil. That stopped the increase for now, but in a few months when the reserves run out, we will see a major jump in prices once again. Instead of putting out the fire, Biden and the Dems just tamped it down a bit so that it can come back stronger later.

Other than releasing oil reserves, Biden has done nothing to fight inflation. NOTHING!!!!!

The Dems and Biden always have someone else to blame for anything that goes wrong. It doesn't matter if their statements are true, they always blame someone else. It's hard to imagine anyone accepting the excuses pouring from Biden when he hasn't done anything

I predict that inaction in confronting inflation will be the undoing of the Biden administ6ration and Dem control of Congress.
Jeffhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17644131728945210716noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8947952174912199011.post-77687028157402151992022-05-07T21:11:00.001-04:002022-05-07T21:11:18.748-04:00Lies And More Lies About Abortion
A short time ago, I saw a story on Instagram posted by a woman who runs PR for a large company. She reported that a new brief from Justice Alito and Barrett discloses that they want to stop abortion in order to solve the shortage of babies available for adoption in the USA. This is idiotic nonsense. First, the only document that has been leaked from the Supreme Court is a draft of an opinion written in February by Judge Alito. I've read the entire document; it says nothing about adoption at all. It's a legal opinion, not a political argument. In other words, the Instagram story is reporting a complete lie.

Further, Justices don't write briefs. They just write opinions. That makes clear also that her Instagram story is a lie.

Lastly, the Justices are legal scholars. Alito would never base a constitutional argument on a political position.

It's crazy that responsible people fall for these lies
Jeffhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17644131728945210716noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8947952174912199011.post-24300184367675641492022-05-03T23:05:00.002-04:002022-05-03T23:05:14.639-04:00The Abortion Battle
Someone leaked a draft of a possible decision from the Supreme Court in which the decision in Roe v. Wade is overturned. It returns control of abortion to the states. The media is doing its usual hysterical rant this time how such a decision would end a woman’s right to choose. As usual, the media hysteria is nonsense. States will decide the matter. In other words, women in NY, California and other similar places will see no limitation on abortions. Some states will place limits on abortions which won’t mean much. Others may ban abortions but they won’t be many. Further, if one state bans the procedure, most women can just go to the next state that allows it. Instead of 9 Justices in DC d egg coding for everyone (with no valid legal basis) elected state legislators will decide. If voters are unhappy they can just vote in new legislators. It’s called Democracy

I guess the operative phrase here should be CALM DOWN
Jeffhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17644131728945210716noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8947952174912199011.post-64846038845793563502022-01-11T20:09:00.003-05:002022-01-11T20:09:26.670-05:00Let's try something new. Predictions for 2022
Since the year is just starting, I think it is worthwhile to predict how the elections will turn out in November of this year. If you want to make a prediction as to the outcome, just do so in the comments.

Here are my predictions for the midterm elections.

Senate: Republicans pick up four seats from the following states: NH, NV, AZ, CO, MN and GA. Democrats fail to pick up even a single GOP seat. Net results GOP has a 54-46 majority.

House: Gop picks up a net of 56 seats and takes control of this chamber.

Governors - GOP picks up three states but loses one, net result is a pickup of 2.

Good luck -- but I'm right.
Jeffhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17644131728945210716noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8947952174912199011.post-9822387605338191772022-01-11T20:00:00.003-05:002022-01-11T20:00:43.641-05:00The Dems Actually Lose Their Minds
I don't post much anymore. I am too busy dealing with life and just don't have time to comment on the political scene. Today, however, I read a column by Democrat Doug Schoen in the Wall Street Journal that cannot be ignored. Schoen presents what he thinks are clear, rational and convincing arguments why Hillary Clinton is the best candidate for the Democrats in 2024.

Think about this for a minute. "Hillary in 24" is about as sensible as "Catch COVID for weight loss". Clinton is a loser. She managed to lose in 2016 even though she had the support of a united party and media. She managed to lose despite a spate of scandals that hit Donald Trump. She managed to lose ungraciously, failing even to show up on election night to concede once her loss was clear. She ran a nasty campaign, tagging her opponents as unAmerican or unpatriotic. She was a lazy candidate who seemed to have more affinity for day drinking than she did for the American people. As I said, Clinton is a loser.

The truth is that I would like to see America make a rational choice in 2024 between the chaotic vision of the Democrats and the reality of the GOP view. Clinton may be the best person to bring that about, so maybe it will be good for the USA if she runs as the Dem candidate.
Jeffhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17644131728945210716noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8947952174912199011.post-2568154947725814022021-11-28T15:45:00.001-05:002021-11-28T15:45:12.141-05:00Inflation? Who cares, say the Dems
The USA is experiencing inflation of a sort not seen for about 40 years. Prices are soaring but old Joe Biden says not to worry. The price rises will slow and stop at some point in the future according to geriatric Joe. The Dems and their support chorus in the mainstream media all repeat that "defense".

Are they kidding? If you spend $40,000 per year on necessities for your family and inflation hits 6%, you need an extra $2400 or $200 per month just to buy the same stuff in the following year. If inflation ends, that extra $2400 stays every year. If inflation just slows, then the $2400 grows larger and larger each year. Now if you're a millonaire Dem in the White House or Congress, you don't care cause the $2400 is penny ante stuff. For the average American, however, this is a big big big problem. The Dems' telling us all not to worry while doing nothing to end the problem is really nothing than another big lie from Biden and the Dems. Do they really think they can fool us all?

Let's go Brandon!
Jeffhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17644131728945210716noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8947952174912199011.post-40065397966215332952021-11-15T20:42:00.003-05:002021-11-15T20:42:58.993-05:00Those Mean Republicans Citing Actual Facts
I chuckled this afternoon as I read the latest "explanation" in The New Yorker telling us why inflation and supply chain problems are not Joe Biden's fault and how the Republicans are mean spirited for telling America the contrary. That's a hoot!

When he came into office, Biden took immediate steps that have resulted in the USA producing about 12-15% less oil and gas today as it did in January of 2020. If you take away 12-15% of the supply, guess what? Prices go up and quickly. Even worse, Biden's new regulations and restrictions will continue to reduce American oil and gas production in the coming years. Prices will just get higher and higher as shortages continue.

Then there are the shortages of materials coming into our ports. It seems that there just aren't enough trucks to carry all the goods that have to get to market. Biden has done nothing to change this. NOTHING! When there were shortages of transport and materials during the COVID early days Trump's COVID task force run by Mike Pence got manufacturers to make more needed items like ventilators. The Trump administration also used military personnel to transport needed items around the country to make sure that shortages were alleviated as quickly as possible. Biden hasn't done anything of the sort. In fact, the guy heading the Biden regime's response to all the shortages and port problems is Pete Buttigieg who left for 6 months paternity leave through the heart of the problem. They didn't even get a replacement to run the Transportation department in his absence. Things just drifted. That's Biden management (or lack of management) for you.

The reality is that inflation and shortages are not SOLELY Biden's fault. Still, he has done nothing to help solve the problems and he has done a whole lot to make them worse. No amount of phony spin in lefty magazines like the New Yorker can change that basic truth.
Jeffhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17644131728945210716noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8947952174912199011.post-65458809962082991532021-11-14T12:59:00.005-05:002021-11-14T12:59:55.087-05:00Is This Real??
The Washington Post just released a poll showing Biden's approval rating in the toilet and showing the GOP with the largest lead over the Dems in a generic poll of the last 40 years. When I saw the numbers and the source, it made me wonder if the poll had been especially slanted by the Post in order to try to scare the Dems into changing their tactics. For example, is the Post realizing that pushing "defund the police", "critical race theory", and the green new deal are going to result in the Dems losing Congress by a huge margin next year? How better to scare the party's power brokers than to make things seem even worse than they actually are?

After a moment of thought, though, I dismissed my suspicions. After all, Biden is truly in hot water. He hasn't achieved a thing but has single handedly pushed higher prices, material shortages, and porous borders along with foreign policy disaster and gross overspending during his ten months in office. Americans may not pay too close attention to Washington on a day to day basis, but Biden and the Dems are so bad that the reality has leaked out. You can't tell a person paying $4.80 for a gallon of gas that drastically curtailing US energy production (which raised prices) was a good idea. They figure out the truth - even in the face of lies from the White House.

If we're lucky, the public's anger at old Joe and his party won't dissipate by November of 2022. Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer and all the old Democrats need to go.
Jeffhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17644131728945210716noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8947952174912199011.post-71680112028303865542021-11-07T12:41:00.003-05:002021-11-07T12:41:30.514-05:00Big News At Climate Summit
The climate summit in Glasgow is proceeding with there being three big items receiving news coverage;

1. Joe Biden fell asleep during the speeches.

2. Joe Biden let out a major fart while he was talking to Camilla, the wife of the Prince of Wales.

3. The amount of carbon emissions from the fleets of private jets that brought the participants to Scotland for the meeting was incredibly enormous.

Not much news was made by what was actually said at the conference.
Jeffhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17644131728945210716noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8947952174912199011.post-73314476438846771332021-11-05T11:00:00.000-04:002021-11-05T11:00:07.774-04:00How Do we get them back to work
The October jobs report came out today. The numbers were fine, but the media is hyping them as if they are outstanding. They're not. The unemployment rate went down, but there are still about 4 million plus fewer people employed than before the start of the pandemic. That's often attributed to the aging population, but that's just a lie used to cover up the truth. The number of people of working age in the USA declined by about 200,000 people since the start of the pandemic but only if you don't count the million plus illegal aliens who came into the country since Biden got elected. Those people more than make up for the 200,000 decline among working age citizens/legal immigrants. NO, the decline in the work force comes from people who have decided to stop working and to rely on government payments for support. Basically, you and I are paying them not to work. It's a really bad situation since there are labor shortages all across the economy.

A second point that should not be missed in today's report is the big item that wages have gone up about 4.6% over the last year. Sounds great, right? The problem is that prices increased by over 1.5% more than that. In other words, real wages went down. An average worker didn't get enough of a raise just to keep up with the cost of living. People across the USA understand that they are falling behind, but the media just can't bring itself to report that reality. Instead, the media is still trying to paint things in a good light for president Biden.
Jeffhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17644131728945210716noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8947952174912199011.post-29635159087328825762021-10-31T13:27:00.003-04:002021-11-01T12:19:04.219-04:00Happy Halloween Glasgow Style
The world climate summit is taking place in Glasgow as I write this. World leaders and climate bigwigs have flown in on their private jets and then driven in fleets of cars to the summit so that they can wring their hands and decry the people who produce major carbon emissions. But they're supposed to be saving the planet from temperatures rising by 2 degrees or so.

But think about these facts:

1. 20 years ago, we were told by climate cognoscenti that if nothing serious were done, in ten years it would be too late to prevent major warming and all manner of disasters. Carbon emissions increased over those ten years in nearly every country but no disaster came 10 years ago, we were told by climate cognoscenti that if nothing serious were done, in ten years it would be too late to prevent major warming and huge disasters. Some countries decreased emissions in a major way - the USA for example -- by others like China and India increased their emissions by more than the decline in the rest of the world. No disasters came.

3. The biggest single reduction in carbon emissions resulted from horizontal drilling and fracking so that natural gas production rose by huge percentages and reduced prices. Utilities that burned coal, switched to natural gas and cut emissions by about 70%. Of course, when Old Joe Biden took office, the first week he delayed leasing federal lands for natural gas production and banned fracking for the time being on federal land. Some states with liberal Democrat governors followed suit. After all, their mantra is "rossil fuels are bad/" As a result of these moves, the supply of nat gas decreased and prices rose. Right now they have doubled in the USA in the ten months that Biden has been in office. Millions of Americans who heat their homes with natural gas are paying twice as much as a year ago, and with winter coming, that price increase will really hit home for those families. From a climate standpoint, though, Biden and his allies have actually managed to raise the price of nat gas so high that some utilities are switching back to cheaper coal. COAL!!! That means that those plants that switch will emit three to four times as much as they did while burning gas. It could be enough that this year or next, the USA may go back to increasing carbon emissions. Thanks Joe!

Look, there really is no definitive proof that humans have contributed to climate change. Earth has been warming unsteadily since 1816. Between 1900 and 1940 warming was by the same amount as was the case over the last 40 years. Everyone agrees, however, that during 1900-1940 there was no human contribution to warming. So we had the same warming with or without human carbon emissions. But even if there is a human contribution to global warming, misguided policies that raise emissions while raising prices for average Americans to heat their homes and fuel their cars are, at best, idiotic. Someone has to explain that to Old Joe and hope that he has enough functioning brain cells left to understand his mistake and change course. Doubtful.

<script async src="https://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-7797274169238680"

crossorigin="anonymous">
Jeffhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17644131728945210716noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8947952174912199011.post-84963688193404399092021-10-26T19:41:00.000-04:002021-10-26T19:41:04.181-04:00Hey it's only 450
Pentagon confirmed today that there are "only" 450 American citizens still trapped in Afghanistan after old Joe Biden's "glorious victory" of pulling out our forces and leaving citizens, and tons of war material behind. It's appalling that 450 Americans are still in Afghanistan and we are doing nothing, NOTHING, to get them out. Remember that after the hasty pull out, the Biden spokesperson told us that there might be as many as 100 Americans still in the country. Now we quietly get word that after almost three months have passed there are actually four and a half times as many stranded citizens.

THIS IS A NATIONAL DISGRACE!!!!!

Biden should have his people working night and day to get these hostages out. Instead, they are busy negotiating with Iran while the Iranians thumb their noses at the USA and complete work on their nukes.

It's hare to imagine a worse president than Biden. Even Jimmy Carter tried to rescue the captives in Iran.
Jeffhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17644131728945210716noreply@blogger.com0
