The Fight Never Ends

It's a strange but true phenomenon:  disclosure of actual facts do not affect positions taken by liberals especially in the media.  I was reminded of this again this morning when I came across a column by Matt Bai on Yahoo News.  Bai is once again writing about Dr. Ben Carson and his biography.  The attack by the media on Carson was examined and found to be without merit days ago.  Bai, however, is still pushing it.  And the way that Bai is doing this ought to make people wonder about his sanity.  Here's an excerpt:

There are plenty of reasons to wonder if Ben Carson is qualified to be president. In Tuesday’s debate, while making an otherwise reasonable point about the mortgage interest deduction, Carson breezily asserted that all kinds of Americans had been buying houses before the income tax was enacted in 1913. (Yeah, not really.)

Is Bai kidding?  Are we to believe that Carson is wrong here?  Bai is saying that prior to the income tax in 1913 and the deduction for mortgage interest no one bought homes in the USA?  What could be more idiotic than Bai's argument?

Bai then goes on to question the story about a young teen Carson trying to attack his mother.  Carson's mother cannot be interviewed today because she is suffering from Alzheimers, but she confirmed the story about 15 years ago in an interview.  It doesn't matter to Bai, though.  He's going with his position even though it has already been totally discredited.

There's more, but what's the point in repeating this stuff.  Matt Bai writes things that are both ridiculous and obviously wrong and Yahoo News gives him a platform to do so.  That allows them to attack Dr. Carson which is the real goal.  One has to wonder how many people just read a column like Bai's without realizing that it is nothing but garbage and propaganda?
