I posted earlier today about Hillary Clinton's comments putting half of Trump's supporters into "The Basket of Deplorables". There's new information out which needs to be added.
1. The statement was made at a fundraiser thrown by a Hollywood mega-rich super liberal where someone took video of it. It was not the first time that Hillary used the line, however. Word is coming in that Hillary has been saying this at many fund raisers through August and into September. That means that this was no inadvertent remark, but a clear expression of Hillary's view of these 30 million people.
2. After the story circulated that Hillary had use the Basket of Deplorables line, her campaign spokesman Nick Merrill tweeted that the campaign stands behind that view. He even pointed out that Hillary gave an entire speech denouncing those who support Trump.
I do not find it surprising that Hillary Clinton does not like Trump supporters. After all, this is a woman who divides her own supporters into two groups: 1. those who give millions to the Clinton Foundation and 2. those who do not matter. Still, it is very surprising that Hillary would announce that dislike to the very voters from whom she is seeking support.
