The policy of president Obama regarding Syria has been abysmal. Today comes word that it has gotten so bad that even Obama's allies are revolting. Senator Chuck Schumer of New York (who I have always thought was revolting) and his sidekick Senator Gillibrand of New York are introducing a bill tomorrow that will impose all sort of new sanctions on Syria and its government for the indiscriminate killing or imprisonment of those in Syria who are protesting against the regime. It is hard to think of two senators who are more consistent supporters of Obama and his policies, but Obama's failure to do anything with regard to Syria has just gotten to be too much for even these two Obamacrats.
I doubt that the new bill will force Obama to do anything new regarding the murderers who run Syria. Nevertheless, we can always hope.
