The Need For Constancy and Strength With Iran

Last night, the USA launched cruise missiles that are reported to have destroyed three radar sites in Yemen.  Those radar sites were used to guide the missiles launched by the Houthi terrorists at American navy ships.  Today, Iran announced that it is sending some destroyers from its navy to the waters off Yemen to fight pirates.  Needless to say, the issue is not pirates, but a desire to show both the Houthis and the USA that Iran supports its terrorist clients in Yemen.

In the past, president Obama would likely react to this show of force by Iran by backing off.  We might see American naval forces pulled from the region to avoid any confrontation with Iran.  Hopefully, that will not be the case this time.  It is critical that the US navy continue to patrol the international waters off of Yemen.  America cannot be seen by our allies or our enemies in the region to be running from the Iranians.

Obama finally did the right thing when he sent the cruise missiles in to punish the Houthi terrorists for their attacks.  Hopefully, he will continue on that course and confront the Iranians with a resolute strength.  I know it is not likely to happen, but nevertheless, Obama has a chance for once to do the right thing.
