Another Try To Defend Hillary Falls Flat

There's a new tack in the media's defense of Hillary Clinton today.  Jeffrey Toobin makes the argument that Hillary's problem with putting classified information into her emails comes about because the government classified everything.  You get it, right?  No matter what Hillary discussed about work in her emails, it would likely be classified because essentially everything gets classified by the overzealous federal government.  How could Hillary help but get drawn into this mess; no one could possibly know how to keep the classified info out of the emails.

There are, of course, two obvious answers to Toobin's new attempted defense:

1.  If Hillary had used the government system for sending this classified information, she would not have put any classified information at risk on her private unsecured email system.  Hillary set up the personal system to keep control of her own records despite the laws and regulations that prohibit such conduct.  She did this even knowing that the government classifies such a great number of documents.

2.  Some of the small number of email already reviewed by the Inspector General contained information which is the highest category of Top Secret.  This includes satellite surveillance as well as signals intelligence.  That information is clearly secret and any secretary of state would know that to be the case.  We are not talking about the government putting a classified stamp on a recipe for making devil's food cake; we are talking about secrets that clearly affect national security.  Hillary sent that information on her private unsecured email system.

Toobin is supposed to be a smart guy.  He must realize that his supposed defense of Hillary is fatally flawed.  But the media's need to protect the leader of the libs is too strong for him to resist.
