Senator Kent Conrad, chairman of the Senate committee that oversees the federal budget and a Democrat is out with a statement calling the cuts in the proposed obama budget for 2012 inadequate. That's right, the president who is trying to make himself appear like a budget cutter has not even made a good enough attempt to satisfy the most important member of Congress from his own party with regard to the budget. I guess that sometimes (albeit rarely) in Washington, reality and the needs of the country triumph over politics as usual. My suggestion is that Congressman Paul Ryan and Senator Conrad, the two chairmen of congressional budget committees, meet to see if they can agree on cuts much larger than those in the nonsensical Obama budget proposal.
