Rights For Me But Not for Thee

In general boycotts don't work.  It's really impossible to get a sizeable group to boycott a product for a long time.  Even so, boycotts remain a big tactic  of "social justice" groups.  Just a few weeks ago, the NY Times wrote a lengthy article applauding how certain advertisers would not place their ads on the Tucker Carlson show.  That's why it's so funny to watch the left wing media outlets condemn as unAmerican the current boycotts against Budweiser for its use of a prominent trans personality to promote Bud Lite.  Similarly, the same media is apoplectic about a proposed boycott of Disney for its support of extremist gay activists.

Look, the reality is that Disney and Budweiser are free to use anyone to promote their products, just as other advertisers could chose not to use Tucker Carlson to promote theirs.  Consumers are also free to use whatever criteria they want to decide what products to buy.  It's ridicuous and hypocritical, however, for media like the Times or NBC to applaud one side and to condemn the other as unAmerican.
