They Should Try It

Seattle's City Council is actually debating shutting down the city's police department.  I think they should try it.  Just imaging how it would go.

1.  Criminals from across the Northwest would flock to the city.  They could do what they want, and there would not be anyone there to arrest them.

2.  Very quickly, local citizens would from vigilante groups to protect themselves from the thugs.

3.  The murder rate and all other crimes would soar.

4.  It wouldn't take too long for the local left wing population to sour on the idea that there should be no cops.

5.  The national media could talk about what an inclusive paradise Seattle had become, but as countless citizens moved out, the city would move towards collapse.

Maybe, and it's a big maybe, the destruction of this major city would teach the rest of the country that leftist BS is just that.....pure BS.

Biden Caves To The Far Left Again -- Now He Supports Stacking the Supeme Court

Joe Biden has less spine than a jellyfish.  He has been bowing to the demands of the far left for so long that he no longer seems to have any ideas himself.  Biden's latest surrender to the left came today on the issue of -- what he calls -- structural change to federal courts.  Simply put, structural change means increasing the number of judges on the Supreme Court and Courts of Appeals so as to have a huge number of new far left judges appointed to the bench.  It is a reaction to President Trump's appointment of many conservatives to the federal bench.  Instead of waiting for judges to retire or otherwise leave the bench before replacing them, the crazy left wants just to add so many new judges that they regain total control over the judiciary that they used to enjoy.  A few months ago, Biden said he opposed that move.  Today, he endorsed it being included in the Democrats' platform for 2020.  

Think about this.  The Supreme Court has had 9 members for as long as anyone can remember.  The left doesn't care; they want to expand it to 15 so that all decisions will be won by the left.  The courts of appeals are also to be stacked so that only left wing positions prevail.  Forget democracy and the American system.  The left wants power at all costs and Biden won't even stand up to protect the rules taht made our country great.

Just imagine what would happen if Biden were ever to become president.  He would be bullied into doing whatever the crazies on the left wanted.  It would be a complete disaster for America.

Ilhan Omar Signals She Is Losing

Far left anti-Semitic and racist Democrat Ilhan Omar has given us the sign that she expects to lose her primary for the congressional seat she currently holds in Minnesota.  Omar is the Moslem congresswoman, born in Somalia, who has become a celebrity on the left for her anti-Semitic diatribes and bizarre anti-white racism.  Right now, Omar is campaigning for her seat in the Democrat primary that is scheduled for August 11th.  Victory in that primary is tantamount to election in the heavily Democrat district.  Omar, however, is facing a strong challenge from a local attorney who is from the left but without the racist or anti-Semitic views of Omar.  There are no public polls on the primary, but clearly, Omar thinks she is going to lose and has given us a clear sign of her views.

Let me explain:  Omar has gotten into trouble with her marriages and financial transactions.  She was married to one man when allegedly she also married her brother to get him a green card.  Then she divorced both husbands and took up with a campaign consultant she employed.  Earlier this year she married the campaign consultant.  And here's the signal that Omar thinks she will lose.  In the last three weeks, Omar's campaign has paid her consultant/husband about three quarters of a million dollars.  That was almost the entire amount of cash that her campaign had raised.  In other words, Omar emptied her campaign coffers right before the primary and just happened to pay all that cash to a consultant who coincidentally is her husband.  She didn't buy TV ads, or mailers, or the like.  She funneled all available cash to her "consultant".  It was a way to grab all of the campaign cash for herself and her husband.  If Omar thought she might win the election, she wouldn't siphon of the cash in such a blatant manner.  She thinks she's going to lose.

The truth is that from the standpoint of America, it is worth letting Omar siphon off all this cash if it removes this cancerous lesion from Congress.  Omar has been a purveyor of hatred and bigotry since the day she got to DC two years ago.  I hope the Democrats in the 5th district of Minnesota do the right thing and throw that woman out.

Why The Dishonesty?

I write often about people in politics who tell lies.  Indeed, it seems to be a full time job.  Today, however, the perpetrator of the lies is none other than Dr. Anthony Fauci, who we all know well from all those corona virus task force press conferences.  Fauci testified today in front of a congressional committee.  He went on and on about how important it was for everyone to use social distancing to prevent more spread of the virus.  One congressman asked Fauci if that meant that it was important to avoid crowds in offices, stadiums, stores and the like.  Fauci said yest.  Then the same congressman asked if that meant that it was important to avoid crowds in protests like the ones in many cities at the moment.  Fauci said NO.  NO, NO, NO.

Simply put, Fauci lied.  He didn't want to tell the BLM movement that it should stop the riots and general urban upset, so he gave a different answer for crowded protests than he did for crowded church services.

Why can't Fauci tell the truth?  It's not hard to do.  Just think how refreshing it would be to see an honest bureaucrat.

Defund the Unionized Public Schools

Across the country, there are a great many teachers' unions who are threatening strikes if they are ordered back to work and the schools get reopened.  The main issue seems NOT to be COVID, but rather political nonsense.  In California, one teachers' group says it won't return to work unless the police are defunded.  Others want higher coverage for Medicaid (which doesn't affect any of the teachers' union members.  Still others want parts of the Green New Deal put in place or other steps to fight climate change before they will return to work.  This is not an exhaustive list.  All sorts of left wing pet projects have become essential to the teachers before they will return to teach the children.

It seems to me that it is time to defund the teachers' unions.  If they don't go back to work, they shouldn't get paid.  And all payments should stop as soon as possible.  Let the teachers no longer be "working" from home where they do little while the kids vegetate.  There's no reason for taxpayers to pay teachers to refuse to work so that they can push for ridiculous left wing policies.  

Just imagine if the city council in a major city were to pass an ordinance cutting off salaries to teachers who refuse to return to work.  The City could indeed, hire replacements and leave the old teachers to stew in their unionized poverty.  Educating the children is too important to let these political animals handle it.

From here on, it's time to Defund Unionized Public Schools.

Let's Paint the Town Red

There's an old expression for wild celebrations called "painting the town red".  It seems New York's idiotic mayor Bill DeBlasio is taking that one to heart.

In the last day, DeBlasio took part in painting another street with the logo Black Lives Matter.  This time the sign is in Queens, near Jamaica.  While DeBlasio was out spending the day painting signs, another dozen or so New Yorkers were shot on the streets of the city.  Crime is rising rapidly across the city.  Some types of assaults are up by more than 70% from the same time last year.  And remember, this year, there are fewer people out and about because of the virus.  That means that the number of people on the street who are getting assaulted in percentage terms is up by something like 200%.  DeBlasio's only answer has been to paint murals and to cut the funding of the police, the only group that can actually REDUCE crime.

New York City struggled mightily under mayors Giuliani and Bloomberg for 20 years to become the safest large city in the USA  Its low crime rate was the envy of the other large metropolises across North America.  DeBlasio has managed in just a few years to throw away all the progress and to return to the bad old days when New York was a murder and mayhem capital.  The leftists who back DeBlasio may not care, but it surely won't be long until the exodus of folks out of the city turns into a flood.  Why stay there if you can afford to leave.  Why face congestion that led to extraordinary death numbers from COVID, high and rising crime and an exorbitant cost of living.  On top of this, the stay at home orders showed all sorts of people that they can work for the most part at home.  No need to go to crime infested Manhattan for work.  The last time NY City faced something like this, it lost about 15% of its population and nearly went bankrupt.  Once Giuliani took office, things turned around and NYC regained its luster.  That may not happen this time.  DeBlasio may have started New York on the path to destitution.  It may soon become Detroit on the Hudson.

The Latest From Lying Dick Blumenthal

Senator Richard Blumenthal of CT, known far and wide as "lying Dick", is at it again.  Today he tweeted that President Trump's agents are "disappearing"  the "peaceful protesters" in Portland, Oregon.  It was bad enough when "fat Jerry" Nadler told America that the violent protests in Portland were a myth.  Having mobs of thugs on video destroying small businesses and cars, attacking people and trying to burn down the federal courthouse night after night, apparently had no impact on fat Jerry.  He just lied about what was happening.  Lying Dick has taken it one step further, however.  He adopts the BS "peaceful protesters" lie, but he goes further to bad mouth the federal marshals who are protecting the courthouse and federal property in that city.  Now, they are just Trump's agents, and even worse, they are "disappearing" the poor victims, those supposedly peaceful protesters.  Lying Dick equates honorable federal marshals who are risking their lives, with Mob hitmen  who are kidnapping and disposing of these poor, poor victims.

Look, if you want to be a successful Democrat these days, it's clear you have to lie.  But attacking honorable federal employees who are just doing their job, the job required by laws passed by Congress that included Lying Dick, is really disgusting.

I know it won't happen, but Connecticut should make sure to dump Lying Dick the next time he comes up for election. 

Blogging the Blob

I haven't written much for the last two months as I have been involved with family issues and had little time left to devote to writing this blog.  Today, however, I have to return to talk about Nancy Pelosi who chose to call federal marshalls "storm troopers" and Attorney General Barr a "henchman" of the President and a "Blob".

Imagine Pelosi's reaction if Barr had called Jerry Nadler, the chair of yesterday's "hearing" a fatty or a blob or morbidly obese.  After all, Nadler (who amazingly has actually lost over 100 pounds after bariatric surgery) is still far heavier than Barr.  Pelosi and all the talking heads on TV would have gone berserk to denounce the "fat shaming" by Barr.  After all, a Republican can't call someone "fat"; only a leftwing Democrat like Pelosi can do that in their view.

But my issue with yesterday's hearing and Pelosi's comments is not really about fat shaming.  NO, it's really about the enormous disrepect shown to federal marshalls who are just doing their jobs and the tremendous dishonesty about what has been happening in Portland and other cities.  Let's be clear:

1.  There are rioters in these cities who are attacking government buildings as well as the homes and businesses of private individuals.  These thugs are destroying property and threatening and beating people who have done nothing to engender this sort of behavior.

2.  In many places, the local mayors (all Democrats) have told the police NOT to intervene.  That leaves private citizens on their own.  If the mob comes to destroy and loot a small business that the owner has spent a lifetime building, that owner is being left by the mayor to be wiped out.  After all, over two months ago, a criminal in Minneapolis who happened to be black died in police custody.  By the logic of the left, that's more than enough reason to wipe out the livelihood of people in Portland Oregon daily for the next two months.  This mess has reached the point where the people of Portland should rise up and confront the mayor.  I wonder how the mayor would feel if a mob came to his house and burned it down as an expression of rage over the death of George Floyd.  Hopefully, the police would just let it happen.

3.  The governor of Oregon has also done nothing to stop the riots.  The only official who has taken action is President Trump.  He sent federal marshalls to Portland to stop mobs that are attacking the federal courthouse.  It is the mob that is attacking and the feds who are only defending the courthouse.

4.  Bozo Democrats like Jerry Nadler have actually called the riots a myth.  Imagine that.  Buildings are burned.  People are beaten.  There is mayhem and destruction every night.  But the real Blob, congressman Nadler, says it is only a myth.  America watches the riots on TV, but it is a myth.  Of course, the mainstream media doesn't cover the riots much, so Nadler thinks he can get away with lying.

5.  Federal marshalls who do their job to try to protect federal property are not stormtroopers.  They are not fascists.  It is the racist Democrats who employ the big lie technique perfected by the Nazis who are the true fascists.  In a bizarre twist, the worst fascists in America today are the members of Antifa which is short for anti-fascist.  It is as if all the hookers in Manhattan decided to call themselves the "virgin squad".

6.  At some point, America needs to wake up and reject and denounce these purveyors of dishonesty on the left.  They truly think that what they do doesn't matter as long as they say the right thing.  They're wrong.

7.  It's worth noting that cracks are starting to appear in their structures.  Today it was announced that over 100 different police agencies have withdrawn from supplying police to protect the Democrat National Convention.  Imagine a whole national political convention with no security.  It surely wouldn't take much for one of these far left groups to invade and take over the convention.  Certainly, the thugs wouldn't be stopped by a doofus like Nadler or 80 year old Pelosi.  They would ignore Biden too.

8.  Society has basic rules that need to be followed.  One is that the government has to tell the truth.  That includes Democrats elected to office too.  The lies and deceit will not carry the day.  There will be a backlash of people enraged by this nonsense.  It's coming.  Just wait.

Panic in Pa

About two years ago, Democrat Connor Lamb won a special election to Congress in Western PA. He was re-elected in November 2018.  He ran as a moderate who would not go along with the Pelosi agenda. In office, however, Lamb votes with Pelosi about 95% of the time. As of six months ago Lamb was nevertheless rated a likely winner in 2020.


Things have changed. Republican Sean Parnell was chosen as Lamb’s opponent. Parnell is a military hero and a great speaker. He has great support in the district. Last quarter he raised more cash than Lamb by nearly 2 to 1. Lamb is getting panicky. Lamb’s campaign spokesman sent out a tweet telling Parnell that he should “die and burn in hell”. That spokesman is also Lambs brother.  So far Lamb has  kept silent about the tweet.

If the GOP has any way to retake control of the House, it requires Parnell to bear Lamb. So far it looks pretty good. 

He Never Said That -- Except He Did

On July 10, the AP did a fact check regarding whether or not Joe Biden "gave his full support" to defunding the police.  The AP fact checkers said that "Biden said he supports redirecting some police funding to address mental health or to change the prison system."

What does that mean?  Biden wants to take funds from the police and use those funds for other purposes.  In other words, Biden wants to defund the police, not totally but partially.

In New York City, the mayor and the City Council have decided to take about a billion dollars from the police to use for other purposes.  Mayor DeBlasio calls that defunding the police.  The City Council billed that as defunding the police.  They say that because it is "defunding the police".  In other words, they take funds from the current police appropriations.

Tomorrow, President Trump will appear on Fox News Sunday.  We've already heard from FNC that the President mentioned that Biden wants to defund the police and that host Chris Wallace jumped in to say that this claim was not true.  Except it is true.  You see, Biden's campaign has announced that he does not support defunding the police, so Wallace points to that.  Biden himself, however, not only said he wants to take money from the police (defunding them), but he's even told us where he wants to use that money.  The AP reported on that statement in detail a week ago.  Without a doubt, there will be an avalanche of articles from the mainstream media saying that Trump lied about Biden's position.  These hacks write articles to protect Biden.  The problem is that Trump didn't lie.  Biden really said he wanted to reduce funding to the police, i.e., to defund the police.

There are many Biden statements that the media just doesn't cover.  My favorite, and perhaps the most shocking, is an old one that Biden made when he was first in the Senate.  He opposed racially integrating schools and said that combining black and white students in schools would make them into "racial jungles".  The guy made clearly very racist statements, but no one covers that.  Where is Black Lives Matters?  Shouldn't Biden be cancelled for not just making these statements but for fighting against integration for nearly five years?  Roseanne got bounced from her show for making a joke about an Obama advisor that could be interpreted as a racial smear.  She apologized but it didn't matter.  She never worked for racist causes, however.  At colleges, some professors and administrators have been fired or forced out because they scheduled conservative speakers on campus.  They were accused of fomenting hate speech -- even though that was untrue.  Biden, however, actively fought for the racist cause for YEARS!  He likened schools with blacks in them to JUNGLES.  There's plenty of video of his saying just that.  But the media says nothing.  Black Lives Matter movements say nothing.  Other Democrats say nothing.  Joe gets a free pass.

America deserves to know that truth.

Bounty or Stew? The Left Lies. So What Else Is New

About ten days ago the NY Times ran an unsourced story claiming that Russia was paying bounties to the Taliban to kill American soldiers in Afghanistan.  The President said he had never been briefed about the bounties and the Director of National Intelligence said that although there were rumors of bounties, there was no real proof that the   rumor was true.  Particularly since the Times had no countrary evidence, the story should have died there as more fake news from the king of the genre.  Juan Williams -- no slave to the truth -- just wrote a piece in The Hill that ends with a charge that President Trump committed treason by not responding to the bounties.  Williams says that three bounties may have been paid, that's MAY have been paid, in 2018.  He has no proof.  To Williams that is "treason".

Why must these people do this?  Can't the facts and the truth matter?  It's just so sad.

The Fakest of Fake News

I’m not sure whether or not to laugh. MSNBC and NBC revealed yesterday that one of the members of its medical reporting team whose struggle with The carina virus got extensive coverage never NEVER had the disease. The reporter is a supposed medical expert who was hospitalized some months back. He was tested and did not have the virus. He was tested a second time and the results were negative. He even took an antibody test weeks after he recovered which found no evidence that he ever had the virus. Despite all that, NBC and its cable news arm reported extensively on the guy’s battle with the virus. MSNBC devoted just under three hours of prime time coverage to a phony story about his fight with the virus.

The patient certainly knew he didn’t have the virus. Any decent reporter would have known. But NBC went with the phony story.

Next time some fool tells you there’s no fake news, just tell them about this months long bogus reporting by NBC. 

Enough is Enough

Yesterday the draft memo written by the FBI agents who interviewed General Michael Flynn in January 2017, was released to the public two days after Flynn's defense team was given the document by the government.  The agents concluded that Flynn "was not acting as a Russian agent" and that he told them what he believed to be true.  In other words, Flynn did not lie to the FBI.

This interview is the basis for the charges brought by the Mueller prosecutors against Flynn for lying to the FBI.  Flynn plead guilty to the charges after fighting them.  He was out of money to pay for lawyers and the Mueller team threatened him that they would go after his family next.  As a result he just gave up fighting.  Since then, though, Flynn got a new lawyer who started fighting the charges.  With the Mueller group gone, the Justice Department looked at the case and decided to drop the charges.  The political judge on the case would not just accept the prosecutor's decision.  It was an   astounding move by the court.  The court of appeals ordered the trial court to drop the case, but the judge is still trying to overturn that result.

Now this draft memo has surfaced.  It's a major bombshell.  The government --meaning the Mueller team--was legally required to turn this document over to Flynn's lawyers in mid 2017.  The failure to do so means that any conviction against Flynn would have to be overturned due to prosecutorial misconduct.  Forget that the memo basically contains an admission by the FBI that Flynn didn't lie and was not guilty; the withholding of the memo alone completely required the end of the case.

Despite all this, the Flynn case goes on.  Enough is Enough!!  The case has to be dismissed.Indsueed, the trial judge should be censured by the appeals court for his improper behavior.  Most important, the Mueller prosecutors should be brought up on charges for prosecutorial misconduct.  If the failure to turn over this memo was intentional, some of these prosecutors should be disbarred.

Defunding the police

Congrats to NYC’s mayor comrade Bill DeBlasio. In one year of constant attacks on police in NYC and after trying to cut the police budget by half a billion bucks, Billy has achieved what he wanted. In the first six months of 2020, murder is up 30% over last year. Shootings are up 130%.  Robberies have also Mott than doubled.

So is it Progressive to subject the citizens to a major crime wave?  I guess so. 

Living In The Past

Joe Biden lives in the past. Old Joe is supposed to be a future oriented progressive, but he’s stuck like 50 years ago.
I mention this today because at a gathering of about 20 people in PA, Biden announced that the era of shareholder capitalism is over. Joe compared rich stock-owning plutocrats (who don’t need him) with average Americans who do. That may have been accurate in the 1930s but today almost 60% of Americans own stock. Sure, some own more than others, but all those IRAs and 401k plans and other retirement savings plans give a great many a stake in the market. If old Joe decides to raise taxes on stock and corporations as he says he would, the hit to the stock market would wipe out the retirement savings of tens of millions of average Americans. Even union pension plans would get hit hard thereby smashing the very people old Joe says he plans to help.
Until about 1960, there was a wealthy strata of America that was the predominant component of the stock market. In the next 25 years that all changed. Someone needs to explain that to Biden. He most likely won’t remember it tomorrow but at least it’s worth a shot 

Good News Feom Iran

The most important component of the Iranian nuclear program is the facility at Natanz.  That is the site of the most advanced centrifuges used to separate U235 from the more common U238.  This produces the raw material from which a nuclear bomb can be built.  Well, there's good news from Natanz.  Satellite images of the facility show that about 3/4 of it was destroyed in a recent explosion and fire.  This includes operating centrifuges as well as the plant where the centrifuges were built.

We still don't know the source of the explosion and fire.  An Iranian anti-government group claimed responsibility, but it also could be a cyber attack or even an air strike.  It could be the USA.  It could be Israel.  It could be Saudi Arabia.  Let's put it this way:  there is no shortage of countries that would be thrilled to see the destruction of the Iranian nuclear program.  The key point though is not who did this, but rather that it happened.

In the last two weeks, Iran has gotten hit with explosions across the country.  Clearly, the regime is under attack.  This is really good news.

Can A State Legislature Disenfranchise its Own State Voters?

The Supreme Court ruled yesterday that a state legislature could put conditions on the role of a presidential elector that would require that elector to vote as pledged.  Despite a number of comments from pundits, this ruling has nothing to do with the question of whether or not the states can adopt the national popular vote compact.  Under that compact, electors would be chosen by the states to vote in accordance with the results of the national popular vote rather than the vote within the state.  Such result would overturn long standing precedent that the vote of each citizen of the state must be given equal weight as required by the 14th Amendment.

The electors are chosen by the individual states under the terms of the Constitution.  They are not chosen on a national basis.  That means that if electors are chosen by an election, the state's voters must have their votes valued equally.  If a majority of voters in Texas pick the candidate of one party but the national popular vote goes the other way, forcing the Texas electors to vote in accordance with the national vote would deny the Texas voter equal protection; their votes would be discounted.

Such a result does not stand constitutional scrutiny.

The Test That Wasn’t

Joe Biden has a medical exam that included a standard cognitive test. His campaign won’t release the results.

Think about that!  Biden seems incapable of clear thought. He’s like the poster child for dementia, but a test that could confirm or disprove that is being withheld by his campaign.

Will America actually vote for a senile old man to “lead” us?  I hope not.
