During the election campaign, congressman Jim Himes told his constituents that he favors extending the Bush tax rates for everyone on at least a temporary basis. Now that the election is over, we have had the first vote on the issue. The House voted this afternoon to extend the lower tax rates only for those making below $200,000 for singles and $250,000 for married couples. Himes voted for this bill despite all that he said to the contrary during the campaign.
I can understand how Himes could vote for the bill even though it went against his statements to his constituents. After all, it has been three weeks since the election and something must have changed. That's right, it's colder weather now than in early November, so that must be the reason. Taxes have to be higher on small businesses during cold weather! or maybe it has something to do with the phases of the moon. Himes only favors keeping tax rates unchanged when there is a full moon. could be.
The real truth is that Himes is just another lying politician who says one thing to get elected and then immediately changes his position once he gets back to Washington.
