The way to watch the debates

Tonight and tomorrow when watching the Democrat debates keep asking yourself one question: Is the speaker offering a reasonable solution?  It’s not enough to state a problem. It’s not enough to denounce corporations or the military or the President. A candidate has to have something to offer and that something has to be realistic and likely to make things better.

You decide if you hear anything like that. I heard nothing even close to this at the first debate. I doubt the Dems have anything like this. 

Baltimore Is Not Good = Racism

Baltimore is a mess. It has a super high crime rate, much poverty and poor conditions. President Trump pointed this out. So what’s the lefts response?  They call him a racist. Really, the same people who claim to care about minorities now say talking about poor conditions in a minority majority city and pointing out the failure of a man in power there 30 years is racism. That’s just nuts.

When they got nothing the left screams racism!

It’s Just A Court Decision

Friday, the Supreme Court held that the government could use certain funds for construction of a border wall.  The President transferred the funds from the military budget to wall construction,  Its  a technical legal issue regarding budget matters.

Despite the arcane nature of this ruling, the left is losing its mind about it. To them this is SCOTUS endorsing Trump’s plans for a wall.   How silly!  It would be fine were the court to do so, but it isn’t.
  The left needs to calm down. Not every loss in court is political. SCOTUS applies the actual law. 

Mueller YAWN

Robert Mueller is testifying as I write this.  Yawn.  I'm not watching.  Yawn.  I have no intention of watching.  Yawn.

We have a two volume report.  It says there was no collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign.  It chose not to come to a conclusion on obstruction, but the Attorney General looked at the evidence and says there's no collusion.  Mueller says that he won't go beyond what's in the report.  the Justice Department rules say it would be improper for a Special Counsel to go beyond what's in the report.  Almost certainly, Mueller won't go beyond what's in the report.  In other words, there's no point to all this silly circus.  It's going to be a bore.

I say again, "Yawn!"

One more crazy Democrat

In Mississippi today a Democrat candidate for the state legislature went to a medical center where his wife works, shot her and then killed himself. His wife died on the way to the hospital.

Did you see the story?  Somehow. It hasn’t been mentioned   It’s another case of a Democrat doing something heinous and the media refusing to cover it.     

I'm With Tulsi

Congressman Tulsi Gabbard was on a show today when she was asked about her rival for the Democrat nomination for president.  Gabbard said the following:  “I think one of the things that I am most concerned with is Kamala Harris is not qualified to serve as commander-in-chief.  I can say this from a personal perspective as a soldier. She has no background or experience in foreign policy and she lacks the temperament that is necessary for a commander-in-chief.”

I don't often say this, but I agree completely with Tulsi Gabbard.  America needs a president who has a good understanding of foreign policy and who would make a good commander in chief.  That doesn't mean we need someone who the foreign policy establishment likes.  Rather it means we need someone who has the sort of experience that translates into being able to conduct the sort of negotiations that constitute most foreign policy.  Harris has no such experience; her experience with relations did not involve the foreign sort.  She got her start in politics by being the "girlfriend" of California's then leading Democrat Willie Brown.  Since then, she hasn't had much of any experience in foreign relations.

This story will probably be buried by the mainstream media which won't want to criticize Harris for fear of being branded "racist".  Nevertheless, it remains an important issue for voters.

BoJo On The Rise

Boris Johnson (or BoJo as he is knows in some British media) won the race for leader of the Tory party in the UK.  That will make him the next Prime Minister.  It was the expected result.

So now comes the hard part.  BoJo won the race, but now he has to deliver a government that accomplishes Brexit in the next 100 days and also governs Britain.  That will be difficult, but if Johnson pulls it off, he may achieve two political goals that will cement him in office for a long time.  First, if Brexit actually takes place, the reason for being of the new Brexit party will be gone and the 20 to 25% of the public that is now supporting that party can return back to the old major parties.  Second, the seeming inability of the Tories to get anything done under the May regime will have ended.  Johnson will then be able to contrast Tory rule with the increasingly bizarre and hateful positions taken by Labour under Corbyn.  Jeremy Corbyn has already managed to get support for Labour to fall below 30%.  That isn't going to recover if Johnson achieves his goals, but the Tory support will rise back to normal levels.  It could give the Tories an insurmountable lead for the near term.

Hopefully, Johnson will achieve the goals he has set for Britain.  The Brits have had ineffective government for just too long.  The world needs a stable UK so that it can be a force for good.  A success by Johnson would help achieve that.

NBC Does It Again

Trump administration pursues a rule that would end food stamps for 3.1 million people

That evil President, right?  He's taking food out of people's mouths and leaving them poor and hungry, right?  Well, actually not; Trump isn't taking food stamps away from anyone who qualifies for them.

The food stamp program has certain requirements for qualifying to receive help from the government.  A potential recipient cannot have income or assets above a certain level.  Those levels were set by Congress before Trump took office and they are the law.  Some states, however, are using a loophole to provide food stamps to people without checking to see if they qualify under the law.  The new rule would require states to check if food stamp participants actually meet the legal requirements.  It's not a ploy to take food from the poor.  Rather, it is a move to enforce the law as written.  Anyone who meets the requirements set by Congress will still get food stamps.  The only people who will lose food stamps are those who don't meet the requirements, in other words, those who are cheating the system.

Why must NBC mislead people with Fake News?  Is it in their DNA at the peacock network?

The Budget -- More Dishonesty From the Media

President Trump and congressional leaders reached a budget deal yesterday.  If you follow this sort of thing, ask yourself how much spending increased next year compared to this year.  Most news reports scream that spending has increased $320 billion.  That's wrong. Actually, spending for the next fiscal year will rise by just less than $50 billion.  That's a huge amount, but it's much less than the number that the media is using.  So how can that be?  The answer is the media is comparing spending to the level set in the automatic sequestration bill passed in 2011.  That bill set maximum levels for defense and domestic discretionary spending.  Congress ended sequestration two years ago, but it did so on a "temporary" basis for just the following two years.  Technically, sequestration was supposed to kick back in for next year, but no one in Washington expected that it ever would.  After all, were sequestration to return, it would have cut each of defense and domestic spending by over $100 billion.  There's no way Congress or the President would want such drastic cuts in an election (or any other) year.

The point is that while spending has risen; it hasn't risen by all that much.  The less than fifty billion dollar actual increase is just over one percent of current federal spending.

So why would the media be pushing the 320 billion number?  The answer is that they want conservatives and budget hawks to be upset with the President and the Republicans for spending so much.  There's a technical basis for screaming about 320 billion, so the media is off and running.  The actual numbers don't seem to matter.  Because of sequestration, there's a technical basis for this number, but it's still mostly Fake News.  Again.

Beto Has To Go

Robert O'Rourke just did the political equivalent of jumping the shark.  O'Rourke has been watching his campaign for president collapse with his poll numbers going lower and lower.  The campaign which began with Beto being promoted in the media as the new John Kennedy has changed into more of a funeral.  People across America realize that Beto's main accomplishment was losing a senate race in Texas in 2018.  O'Rourke has no plans.  He can't talk without flapping his arms so much that he looks like he is trying to take flight.  He's become more of a laughing stock than a real candidate.

So what has Beto done?  He's decided that the way to regain momentum is to call those who support President Trump Nazis.  By insulting half of all Americans with the disgusting smear, Beto is hoping to win the allegiance of at least some of the other half.  It's a crazy strategy, one which, if Beto were actually to get the nomination would guarantee that he would lose the general election.  The latest from Beto was to talk about the Trump rally in North Carolina last weekend in this way:  "What we saw in North Carolina last week was almost an impromptu Nuremberg rally."

Nuremberg, of course, was the site of mammoth rallies/demonstrations at which Hitler spoke at length to his supporters. So, to Beto, Trump is Hitler and the Americans who went to Trump's rally are Nazis.

It's time for the Democrat losers to stop using the Nazi analogy. It's insulting to the half of America who voted for the president. It's insulting to the nation. It's a sign of delusional thinking.

The real truth is that the time has come for Beto O'Rourke to pull out of the race. Throwing around disgusting accusations leveled at half of the country cannot lead to a successful outcome. Beto should end this embarrassment now.

Bernie Is Losing It

Bernie Sanders was getting blasted by people on Twitter and other social media because he was paying many on his staff less than the $15 minimum wage Sanders says is required for survival these days.  It was quite a conundrum for poor Bernie.  What to do?  Raise costs for his campaign or actually practice what he preaches?  Bernie chose to do neither.  He raised the wages of the relevant staff to $15 per hour, but then he cut the hours each was working so that the take home pay actually went down.  Bernie now gets to talk about what a great man he is for paying $15 per hour, but his staff gets less money than previously, so it is harder to make ends meet.

This is Socialism at work!

Something Missing in Stories About Governor of Puerto Rico

Ricardo Rosello is the embattled governor of Puerto Rico.  Rosello was under strong attack for the corruption in his administration and the loss of billions of dollars in federal aid sent to the island for hurricane relief.  There were protests in the streets.  That got some attention in the media, but not a lot.  Then some internal messages were found in which Rosello communicated with his staff and called the protesters homophobic names and other slurs.  The mainstream media changed the point of the protests to being against the text messages and emails.  But what is missing in these stories?  What isn't the mainstream media telling us about this allegedly sexist, homophobic, corrupt governor?  To answer that, let me ask you one more question.  To what party does Rosello belong?

The precise answer is that Rosello is a member of the New Progressive Party of Puerto Rico.  He's a Progressive.  That is rarely mentioned in stories.  Let's take it a bit further, however.  On a national level, Rosello is a Democrat.  He has been a delegate to the Democrats conventions representing Puerto Rico.

Did you know that Rosello is a Democrat?  It's not an easy thing to find.  I literally had to do four separate Google searches in order to come up with the answer.  The mainstream media just won't mention this.  I looked at 19 stories from different sites to see if the governor's national party affiliation was mentioned.  It wasn't.  Indeed, I only found mention of his membership in the local New Progressive Party in stories about his resigning as head of that party.  As I read the stories about Rosello, there was a pattern in which the media tried to link the governor to President Trump.  Could it be that none of the reporters who wrote these stories bothered to learn the actual facts?  No way.  This is just a new bit of Fake News from the mainstream media.

The truth is this:  right now, there are two governors in the US who have major problems with bigotry in their past actions.  The two are Ralph Northam of Virginia and Rosello of Puerto Rico.  Both are Democrats.  Both are from the party that talks the talk of tolerance, but rarely walks the walk.  The media tries at all costs to cover up this simple fact.

The Blackout Is Mostly A Mental Blackout

One of the funniest items in today's news is the announcement by NY governor Cuomo that he is going to investigate Con Ed (the local electric utility) regarding the blackouts in New York City.  It seems that Cuomo (and New York Mayor Bill DeBlasio) have blacked out everything that they have done to prevent there being adequate power for the Big Apple.

Starting years ago, Cuomo did all he could to get Indian Point closed.  That is the nuclear plant that supplied roughly 40% of the power in New York City.  Cuomo ultimately forced Con Ed to shut the plant which had operated for many decades and which provided relatively inexpensive and totally clean power.

Meanwhile, Cuomo lobbied hard to get all coal fired plants closed.  With Indian Point being closed, these coal plants became more important and they operated more than they otherwise would have done.  That meant more emissions -- thanks governor Cuomo.  Ultimately, however, Cuomo forced Con Ed to shut down nearly all coal fired plants and all are scheduled for shut down.  That meant less power is available and the cost is higher.

Meanwhile, Con Ed started converting to natural gas, a much cleaner fuel than coal.  Cuomo's response has been to do all he can to limit the supply of natural gas available in New York.  The state banned drilling for gas, even though New York has part of the Marcellus field which could produce copious gas for local use.  Worse, Cuomo has blocked all manner of pipelines that could supply gas across the state.  As a result, gas utilities have refused to take on any new customers.  This is strangling home building and other construction, and it is constricting the amount of gas available for the power plants.

So NY has no nuclear, no coal and restricted nat gas.  All is thanks to Cuomo and his efforts.  Now that there are blackouts, Cuomo is going to investigate why there isn't enough power.  What a phony.  All he needs to do to investigate is to get a mirror and look in it.  Pretending that he has no responsibility for this is a crazy stunt by Cuomo.  New Yorkers may believe his lies, but ultimately the truth will out.

Misdirection On A Grand Scale

For days now the mainstream media and the Dems have been pushing on the story of what the crowd at the last Trump rally chanted and the reactions to it. When the President spoke about Minnesota Democrat Ilhan Omar who is anti-Semitic, anti white and a purveyor of both hatred and ignorance on a grand scale, some in the crowd chanted “Send her back!”  The media used that to try to protect Omar from criticism.  The media line was that the President is a racist. He didn’t say the chant but they called him a racist for not quashing the chant. Over the next few days media or Dems have falsely accused Trump of starting the chant, of universal racism, and worse. Omar and the Squad have thrown every charge of racism imaginable. It’s all BS.

The truth is that this is a coverup. The Squad are four of the most virulent racists in our government. For them, evil is any white male, Jew, or Conservative.  Hating people due only to their race or religion or beliefs is the very definition of bigotry. No amount of screaming or phony charges will cover that up. The Squad is a cancer in the Democrat party which Dems should cut out rather than embrace.

Is There Law Or Not?

The cliche is that the USA is a land of laws not people. Supposedly the law is enforced no matter who you are if u break the law

Wouldn’t it be nice if that were true.  Sadly, there’s a huge group of Dems who don’t think laws they don’t like should be enforce. Immigration laws get them crazy. Criminal laws also set them off. For example in New York over 25% of people riding the buses don’t pay because they know nothing will happen to them. The City doesn’t enforce the law under Comrade Bill DeBlasio.   Street robberies for small amounts are also not enforced by the Dems. Regular people suffer as a result.

Then there’s the other extreme.  The same Dems who won’t enforce the actual laws that get broken go all out to smash their political opponents even if they haven’t broken the law.  The obvious example is the BS Russian collusion nonsense. How many times did the Dems convict the President even though nothing happened?

Then there’s the Dems who violate the law but nothing happens.   Think of the Obama DNI Clapper who blatantly lied to Congress under oath. Think of Jim Comey or John Brennan who also lied. Mueller put people in prison for much much less.

So do laws mater?  Sadly, they don’t for the Democrats. 

Ilhan Omar Wants Congress To Praise BDS

The BDS movement seeks to boycott everything Israeli, thereby leading to the destruction of that state.  It’s a radical anti-Semitic movement supported by few Americans. Radical Democrat Ilhan Omar, however, has introduced a resolution before the House praising BDS. It’s just another of her anti-Semitic moves. It won’t pass but it is still a travesty that Congress has to waste time with Omar’s hatred. 

Iran Takes U.K. Tanker

The Iranian navy seized a British tanker in international waters off Iran. There is going to be some sort of retaliation by the U.K.  it could lead to war. The mullah are nuts. 

332 to 95

So what support did the Dem far left muster in its bid to impeach the President?  The answer is almost none. The vote defeating impeachment was 332 to 95. Even the Dems voted against impeachment. They realized that impeachment requires an actual reason other than “our base doesn’t like Trump.”

Will this end the nonsense?  Nope. The left has to be the left and behave accordingly. It’s a sad thing for our country though. If the Dems would work to fix problems rather than trying to make more, it would be a great day. 

Fighting Climate Change in Berkeley

In the virtue signaling world of Berkeley CA, the city Council just banned new homes from using natural gas   This will supposedly force homes to be heated and to cook with electric power.   Hooray!  The council has struck a blow against fossil fuels. But here’s the dark secret that no one mentions:  in CA, the electric power for a typical house results in more emissions than is generated by the same house powered with natural gas. They’re making the problem worse while congratulating themselves for being so woke. It’s another bit of left wing lunacy. 

Sorry Reuters Wrong

Reuters is out with a poll on support for Trump which is unchanged over the last week. Reuters wanted to see the effect of what it calls his “racially charged” tweets about the four far left Dem congressmen and their “hate America First” rhetoric.

Nothing Trump tweeted has anything to do with race but dishonest Reuters still calls it racially charged. Of course The media also called Trumps non partisan 4th of July speech “fascist” and “xenophobic”.  They always have some hateful description for Trump. It’s annoying to read but no one pays it any attention anymore.    

Update:  I just saw a Washington Post report calling the President’s tweets about the four congresswomen “unarguably racist”.  The WaPo of course doesn’t tell us how the tweets are racist. They can’t. Trump’s tweets were talking about the view of four women who happen to be minirities. That doesn’t make them racist. Fair minded Americans understand this. No phony reports by the Washington Post will change that.    

The delusional Truth

A new poll today found that fully 32% of Democrats believe that any criticism of a minority politician by a white person is racist.   In other words if a black congressman says he favors ending private health insurance and a white person says that will bankrupt the hospitals, these Dems think that is racist.  Hard to imagine there are so many delusional Dems.  

Iran Seizes A Tanker

The Iranians have seized a small tanker in the Straits of Hormuz. Iran says it answered a distress call but no other nation heard such a call. Instead this is just the latest provocation by Iran. It seems to be seeking a retaliatory strike for some reason. It’s unclear why that is. Maybe Iran has attacks planned around the world but doesn’t want to seem at the aggressor. No matter what though this is another dangerous move by Teheran. We again are closer to war. 

Deja Voodoo

Old Joe Biden can’t seem to help himself.  Over the weekend he revealed his healthcare plan. In the discussion Biden actually told listeners that if they like their current employer provided plan, they can keep it.  Biden adopted the old Obama lie about Obamacare. Amazing!

Biden must know what an albatross that line was for Obama.  Why would the old codger ever adopt it?

Pot calling the Kettle......Errrr

Congresswoman Ilhan Omar is a major hypocrite.  She criticizes the President for not releasing her tax returns but refuses to release her own returns. She castigates Trump for supposedly dividing the country while she spout hatred for whites and particularly for Jews. She yelled about Trumps paying Stormy Daniels being a campaign finance violation (it wasn’t y).while she is cited for multiple violations by campaign finance authorities. She says Trump refuses to answer questions from Congress (he didn’t) while she won’t even tell the public enough facts to prove or disprove that she married her own brother as part of a fraudulent immigration scheme.

Omar is also a liar who has no regard for the truth   Just look at how she’s handled her tax return difficulties and her claims that any criticism of her is racist.

Nevertheless the Dems today are pushing a resolution through the House in support for Omar. How can the Dems hope to win in 2020 if Americans see moves like this and understand that the Dems will never cross the far left crazies

Telling the Truth -- Just A Great Thing

President Trump called out far left Democrats for the vile hatred and racism that they spew on a non-stop basis.  It was a veiled reference to congressmen Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez who calls all opponents racist, Ilhan Omar who is constantly anti-Semitic as well as usually anti-American, Rashida Tlaib another vicious anti-Semite and others of their ilk.  These women who are called "the Squad" are constantly on Twitter spreading lies, race hatred and anti-Semitism.  For them, the USA can do no right.  They are the disgusting core of the Democrat party and they are dragging every Democrat presidential candidate to following their race-baiting views based upon lies and more lies. 

Hooray for Trump for speaking the truth about them.  These purveyors of political porn deserve the scorn of all Americans.  We cannot allow all the years of progress the country has made coming together on race and religious tolerance to be undermined by people like this who seek only to divide us.  Telling the truth is a great thing.

Just Imagine The Coverage If They Were Republicans

Nancy Pelosi is at war with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez; Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar and their accolytes.  Pelosi pointed out that this crew had very few votes in Congress but that they made a lot of noise on Twitter.  Ocasio-Cortez responded that Speaker Pelosi seemed to be singling out representatives who were women of color for constant criticism.  Putting it in simpler language, Pelosi called AOC and her friend troublemakers without power and AOC called Pelosi a racist in response.  The battle then escalated.  Another far left Democrat called his fellow party members who voted for emergency funding to help handle dealing with all the asylum seekers detained at the border the "child abuse caucus".  It was a strong blow by one lefty Dem against his fellow party members.  That attack came even though the bill he was criticizing passed both the Senate and the House with a majority of Democrats voting for it.

Over the weekend, the Netroots Nation had its annual convention.  It's a far, far left group of progressives who spent much of their time and energy criticizing Pelosi and the few more moderate Democrats.  Some of the commentary was downright nasty.  Of course, once AOC decided to label Pelosi a racist, there's little left of any reserve in the Democrats' new civil war.

The interesting thing has been to see the Democrat presidential candidates respond to these ongoing attacks.  Just imagine what would happen at the next presidential debate if the following question were asked:  "Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said that Speaker Nancy Pelosi unfairly singled out women of color in Congress for criticism, in effect calling Pelosi a racist.  By a show of hands, how many of you agree with the criticism made by Ocasio-Cortez?"  That question would likely lead to a riot and the banning by the DNC of any further appearances of the reporter in future debates.  Questions like that can't be asked to Democrats according to the unwritten rules of media conduct directed towards the Dems.  Of course, if the people involved were Republicans, you can imagine the coverage.  We would have weeks of non-stop emphasis on the subject.

I may have missed it, but I have yet to see even one of the Democrat presidential candidates being asked about this intra-party fight.  Shouldn't we know if Joe Biden or Bernie Sanders think that Pelosi is a racist?  Don't we want to know if Elizabeth Warren and Kamala Harris side with AOC over Pelosi?  Until now, essentially every major Dem candidate has jumped onto the bandwagon of the issues being pushed by AOC.  We really should know from each candidate if they think Pelosi is a racist.

UPDATE -- To prove my point, Bernie Sanders was asked about the AOC/Pelosi feud on a Sunday morning show today.  The question asked was whether or not Sanders felt Pelosi was being "too tough" on progressives like AOC.  No mention of AOC calling Pelosi a racist was made.  The reporters didn't even repeat what either woman had said.  For the average viewer who didn't keep up with the details of the story, this seems like an uninteresting bit of fluff, not the new progressive leader accusing the Speaker of racism.  By the way, Sanders sided with AOC in the dispute.  He said Pelosi is too tough on AOC and her group although he stayed away from anything that would indicate that the charge by AOC had been that Pelosi was racist.

Tanker Wars -- The Brits Win One

A few days ago, the British authorities in Gibraltar seized a tanker filled with Iranian oil bound for Syria.  The seizure was made at the request of the US since the oil shipment violated a number of sanctions in place against both Iran and Syria.  The Iranians were outraged.  They called it an act of piracy.  Today, they tried to retaliate.  Iranian boats approached a British tanker carrying oil in the Persian Gulf.  It was a strange move since the tanker was accompanied by a Royal Navy destroyer.  Most likely, the Iranians thought the Brits would not dare challenge their move.  They were wrong.  The destroyer trained its guns on the Iranian ships and they were forced to flee before they were sunk.  Iran was embarrassed and Britain was triumphant.

This was just a small battle, but it shows where the Iranians stand at the moment.  They keep looking for ways to strike back at countries like the UK and the USA.  They have attacked other tankers recently; indeed, that is why the Royal Navy was there today.  The Iranians do have anti-ship missiles, but to launch one of them against a navy ship would surely lead to retaliation and likely war.  It's not a war the Iranians would win.  Thus, they go out on the attack but retreat at the first sign of real counter-force.

It's a very dangerous situation.  One miscalculation and there will be war.  The Iranians need to stop their provocative actions.  Right now, Iran doesn't look like it is picking that option.

It's Sad That It Has Come To This

A new rule requiring drug companies to announce the list price of the drugs that they advertise on TV has been blocked by a federal judge.  The rule would have put pressure on the drug companies to reduce prices.  After all, who would rush out to get a drug that cost $3000 per month or something higher?  The judge said that the government didn't have the power to require this.  Supposedly, it's ok for the regulations to make the drug companies list the major side effects of a drug, but not the price. 

When I heard the news, I immediately figured that the judge involved had been appointed by president Obama.  These days, no matter what act the Trump administration takes, there's always a political Obama appointee on the bench to block it.  Sure enough, the judge in this case is one appointed in 2014 by Obama.

It's sad that it is so predictable these judges who block regulations.  There's no way that the decisions are just legal process taking place.  We are seeing a political attack ring at work on the bench.  Judges are supposed to follow the law, not their political wishes.

Don't get me wrong.  I don't know if this case was decided correctly.  It sounds wrong to me, but I haven't researched it to come to a conclusion.  I just think that it is a sad day when the administration of justice by the federal court system is so politicized that one can tell who appointed the judge just by hearing the decision.

Steyer Jumps Into the Race for President -- (Try to find three people who care)

I'm back from Denver for the moment.  I helped my daughter move.  Amazingly, I am greeted by the big BIG news that billionaire environmental wacko Tom Steyer has now recanted his previous statement that he would not run for President.  Tom Terrific has jumped into the race as of today.

So here are the big questions:  Does anyone who is not a family member for Steyer care at all about his announcement?  Did Tommy jump into the race to try to fill the major void left when that moron congressman Swalwell pulled out?  Is there any chance whatsoever that Steyer will make any of the Democrat debates?  Assuming that Steyer fizzles quickly, is this latest move by the untom Tom just a manifestation of boredom, or worse, mental illness?

It's truly getting crazy.  The Democrats have a frontrunner whose numbers are cratering and who makes appearances that often make him seem like an escapee from the local senior daycare center.  Their big threat of the moment is a woman who screams about feminism but who got her political career going by sleeping with one of the most powerful Democrats in California (who happened to be married.)  Their other top two candidates are perpetually angry and often dishonest.  One claimed to be Native American when she wasn't.  The other has not seen a happy day since he left the Soviet Union forty years ago.  Now we have a billionaire who is making the topic sentence of his campaign a rant against the evils of corporations (which got him his billions) and a smear against the wealthy. 

Hopefully, this will be the last time that I will have to write about Tom Steyer.  May his campaign sink like the Titanic.  May his voice be silenced by people who realize the total garbage that he is pushing.

old Joe Does It Again

Its hard to imagine this but old Joe Biden has done it again. He was on CNN this morning and he said that Russian interference in an American election would never have happened on his watch or on Obama’s watch.  That’s funny. The whole Supposed Russian involvement in our election was in 2016 when Obama and Biden were in office. How senile is old joe anyway?

Nike and the Flag

It was bad enough that Nike decided to drop selling shoes with the original US flag on them after being pressured by a former football player. It is so much worse that 2020 Dem presidential candidates are applauding the move. Senator Gillibrand is one such Dem.  Apparently she is so crazy for news coverage that she’s ready to throw shade on the Betsy Ross flag to get into a few stories. Julián Castro is another such Dem.

We’re told that the flag made by Betsy Ross is a racist symbol. In what universe?  No sane person mistakes the flag for what it is which is an enduring emblem of America. Shame on the Dems for their behavior 

United We Don’t Get There

I had thought to take time off from posting, but I have to tell this story. I just flew from New York to Denver with a 25 hour flight delay.  It began Friday when we boarded on time. The captain announced a slight delay cause there wasn’t enough water on board. Ok. That took ten minutes and the we pulled away from the gate  After 5 minutes of taxiing there was the captain again.  We had to return to the gate due to a faulty indicator light. That took 45 minutes because there were no open gates.  It turned out that a backup computer system had to be replaced. That took an hour and a half while we sat on the plane.

When the repair was done the captain came back on the PA system. There’s a piece of tape on the wing that has to be removed is what we we told. It took two more hours. That was one minute to remove the tape and two hours for inspections and paperwork.  All this time we sat on the plane. There was no food. We could get water though.

Then the big moment came; we were on our way. We pulled away from the gate. The captain said we were number 26 for takeoff. We waited til we were number three. Then the captain said there was an unspecified maintenance issue and we were returning to the gate. Of course there were no open gates so we waited for another hour on the tarmac. When we finally got back to the gate United asked us to deplane. We had been on the plane for nearly seven hours at that time. No food but there was water.

There were no other available flights but United set up the service desk to deal with “issues”. We were something like 180 people but United had only one person behind the counter.. After another hour in line they announced the plane would leave the following morning at nine. I went home.

The next day I was back by eight. After an hour they announced a new delay and then another. We got no reasons just more delays.

Then they told us the plane was on its way to the gate  By this time some passengers were close to rioting   They stood at the desk screaming but the only response was that the plane was on its way. Also some police came to restore order. About an hour went by then they told us the plane was about to leave for the gate   That made clear that the prior claims were lies. Amazingly the plane did show. We got in. Only half full this time. We then waited over an hour for air traffic control. Finally we left for Denver

The flight was fine
