Two Words For The Iowa Caucus

There are only two words we should ever hear again about the Iowa caucus:  Bye Bye,

The Iowa Democrats screwed up this caucus so badly that there should never be another.  Think about it.  The Iowa Democrats with the help of the DNC had three plus years to prepare for yesterday.  Some genius decided that they had to have an app on cell phones to report the results.  Apparently the old methods of doing things like calling in the results just couldn't be used again.  Then, instead of having the app just report results, the Iowa Democrats decided that the app had to do all sorts of other things like provide the local caucus leader with instructions as to what to do in many different situations.  The Iowa Dems also tried to add other extras into the app.  But here's the key:  even though this was a new app that had never been used previously, the Iowa Dems decided there was no need for a real test of the app.  So they put the fate of the caucus into the belief that the app would function perfectly.

Anyone who has ever run a big event or a company would tell you of the need to test the system before you put your total reliance on it.  It's just a simple management tool.  I remember when casinos were opening in Atlantic City that the companies each had gambling with play money for a day or two in order to test their systems prior to going live with real money.  Planes get test flights over and over again; they don't just put people on an untested plane and take off while hoping there won't be a crash.

Of course, management is something that the Democrats don't seem to understand.  We all remember what the Dems did when Obamacare was rolled out.  They spent nearly three quarters of a billion dollars to put together the Obamacare website.  That was like 700 million dollars more than had ever been spent before on a website.  The problem was it just didn't work.  No one could buy insurance for days.  Finally, the solution was to take many of the services that the Obamacare website was supposed to provide and remove them.  A simplified version finally got up and running after the system being screwed up for more than a month.  (It's worth noting that after six years, the Obamacare website still doesn't provide the services that were removed at the start of that fiasco.)

Right now, the Democrats are busy hating on each other.  I just read a batch of tweets where Bernie supporters called Pete Buttigieg "Mayor Cheat" and "racist puke".  The Biden camp has been slamming the Iowa Democrat Party since last night.  Amy Klobuchar has been out making claims about how well she did knowing that no one has data to correct her.  The Warren camp hasn't had much to say (that's a first), but I'm waiting for her to chime in on what a disaster this is.

I'm still waiting for some Democrat senator or another to announce to the Senate that he or she is voting to impeach the President because of how bad the mess in Iowa was.  It would make no sense, but hey, I'm sure Adam Schiff would tell us that he has overwhelming evidence that it was Trump who screwed up the Democrats' caucus.
