There's Nothing Like Revisionist History -- Iowa Caucus Style

It's still amazing to me.  The Iowa caucus was yesterday and today the campaigns are all out with their explanations of things that never happened.

Here's a good example:  Did you know that the only reason that Cruz won in Iowa is because some of his people repeated a CNN story at some of the caucuses that said that Ben Carson was dropping out.  Of course, that excuse is total nonsense, but that's not the point.  There really are campaigns (mostly Trump) that are pushing this nonsense.  Trump is also telling us that he did great and was never expected to win in Iowa.  Huh?  Every poll in the last part of the campaign showed Trump ahead, but he still lost.  Of course he was expected to win.  He just didn't get the votes.

But it's not just Trump.  Chris Christie was out today telling voters that Rubio is "scripted" and won't answer questions.   Really.  Big Chris was actually telling people (who have now seen six GOP debates where Rubio answered question after question) that Rubio won't answer questions.  I understand that Christie wants to bring Rubio down, but it's maniacal for Chris to use an obviously false attack.

Look, Iowa was important because it showed that Trump is a loser not a winner, because it showed that Cruz could organize people to turn out in record numbers, and because is showed that Rubio is also a contender who must be considered a threat to win it all.  Iowa also confirmed that Jeb is a joke and that none of the other candidates has much of a chance.  I mean the nominee does not have to have won in Iowa, but it is truly unlikely that someone who got two or three percent in Iowa will ultimately win the nomination.
