The new Canadian prime Minister Trudeau just jettisoned all his campaign promises about controlling spending and the budget deficit. In office just a few months, Trudeau just pushed a spending plan that will greatly expand Canada's deficit and increase its debt. To be fair, the deficit is minuscule compared to that of the USA even after accounting for Canada's much smaller population. Nevertheless, the Canadians went through an election campaign where the Liberals led by Trudeau promised fiscal responsibility only to throw those promises away once in office. Why is it that this seems to happen with such regularity when it comes to liberals everywhere?
