The media is having another of their periodic binges of predicting that one or another White House staffer or cabinet secretary is leaving. That gets followed by the obligatory stream of stories about "chaos" in the White House. Today, the story is about the National Security Adviser, H.R.McMaster.
So is this true? I certainly don't know. It might be, but it also might just be another of those Fake News pieces that come out on this subject with regularity. Remember all those stories about how Jeff Sessions was going to be fired as Attorney General last fall? He wasn't fired, and he's still there, although there are more stories about his leaving in the last week. Remember all those stories about how Hope Hicks was leaving? No, because there weren't any in the media. Then a day or so ago, she announced her departure. In the last six months, we've been told General Kelly was out as Chief of Staff, KellyAnne Conway was out as a presidential adviser, Jared Kushner was gone and was going to be indicted too. There are more, but the incorrect stories about White House staff and cabinet secretaries are legion.
I suggest that the media wait and see if anyone goes. There's plenty of time to write about departures when they happen rather than just making things up about departures that never occur.
