Inflation? Who cares, say the Dems

 The USA is experiencing inflation of a sort not seen for about 40 years.  Prices are soaring but old Joe Biden says not to worry.  The price rises will slow and stop at some point in the future according to geriatric Joe.  The Dems and their support chorus in the mainstream media all repeat that "defense".

Are they kidding?  If you spend $40,000 per year on necessities for your family and inflation hits 6%, you need an extra $2400 or $200 per month just to buy the same stuff in the following year.  If inflation ends, that extra $2400 stays every year.  If inflation just slows, then the $2400 grows larger and larger each year.  Now if you're a millonaire Dem in the White House or Congress, you don't care cause the $2400 is penny ante stuff.  For the average American, however, this is a big big big problem.  The Dems' telling us all not to worry while doing nothing to end the problem is really nothing than another big lie from Biden and the Dems.  Do they really think they can fool us all?

Those Mean Republicans Citing Actual Facts

 I chuckled this afternoon as I read the latest "explanation" in The New Yorker telling us why inflation and supply chain problems are not Joe Biden's fault and how the Republicans are mean spirited for telling America the contrary.  That's a hoot!

When he came into office, Biden took immediate steps that have resulted in the USA producing about 12-15% less oil and gas today as it did in January of 2020.  If you take away 12-15% of the supply, guess what?  Prices go up and quickly.  Even worse, Biden's new regulations and restrictions will continue to reduce American oil and gas production in the coming years.  Prices will just get higher and higher as shortages continue.

Then there are the shortages of materials coming into our ports.  It seems that there just aren't enough trucks to carry all the goods that have to get to market.  Biden has done nothing to change this.  NOTHING!  When there were shortages of transport and materials during the COVID early days Trump's COVID task force run by Mike Pence got manufacturers to make more needed items like ventilators.  The Trump administration also used military personnel to transport needed items around the country to make sure that shortages were alleviated as quickly as possible.  Biden hasn't done anything of the sort.  In fact, the guy heading the Biden regime's response to all the shortages and port problems is Pete Buttigieg who left for 6 months paternity leave through the heart of the problem.  They didn't even get a replacement to run the Transportation department in his absence.  Things just drifted.  That's Biden management (or lack of management) for you.

The reality is that inflation and shortages are not SOLELY Biden's fault.  Still, he has done nothing to help solve the problems and he has done a whole lot to make them worse.  No amount of phony spin in lefty magazines like the New Yorker can change that basic truth.

Is This Real??

 The Washington Post just released a poll showing Biden's approval rating in the toilet and showing the GOP with the largest lead over the Dems in a generic poll of the last 40 years.  When I saw the numbers and the source, it made me wonder if the poll had been especially slanted by the Post in order to try to scare the Dems into changing their tactics.  For example, is the Post realizing that pushing "defund the police", "critical race theory", and the green new deal are going to result in the Dems losing Congress by a huge margin next year?  How better to scare the party's power brokers than to make things seem even worse than they actually are?

After a moment of thought, though, I dismissed my suspicions.  After all, Biden is truly in hot water.  He hasn't achieved a thing but has single handedly pushed higher prices, material shortages, and porous borders along with foreign policy disaster and gross overspending during his ten months in office.  Americans may not pay too close attention to Washington on a day to day basis, but Biden and the Dems are so bad that the reality has leaked out.  You can't tell a person paying $4.80 for a gallon of gas that drastically curtailing US energy production (which raised prices) was a good idea.  They figure out the truth - even in the face of lies from the White House.

If we're lucky, the public's anger at old Joe and his party won't dissipate by November of 2022.  Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer and all the old Democrats need to go.

Big News At Climate Summit

 The climate summit in Glasgow is proceeding with there being three big items receiving news coverage;

1.  Joe Biden fell asleep during the speeches.

2.  Joe Biden let out a major fart while he was talking to Camilla, the wife of the Prince of Wales.

3.  The amount of carbon emissions from the fleets of private jets that brought the participants to Scotland for the meeting was incredibly enormous.

Not much news was made by what was actually said at the conference.

How Do we get them back to work

The October jobs report came out today.  The numbers were fine, but the media is hyping them as if they are outstanding.  They're not. The unemployment rate went down, but there are still about 4 million plus fewer people employed than before the start of the pandemic.  That's often attributed to the aging population, but that's just a lie used to cover up the truth.  The number of people of working age in the USA declined by about 200,000 people since the start of the pandemic but only if you don't count the million plus illegal aliens who came into the country since Biden got elected.  Those people more than make up for the 200,000 decline among working age citizens/legal immigrants.  NO, the decline in the work force comes from people who have decided to stop working and to rely on government payments for support.  Basically, you and I are paying them not to work.  It's a really bad situation since there are labor shortages all across the economy.

A second point that should not be missed in today's report is the big item that wages have gone up about 4.6% over the last year.  Sounds great, right?  The problem is that prices increased by over 1.5% more than that.  In other words, real wages went down.  An average worker didn't get enough of a raise just to keep up with the cost of living.  People across the USA understand that they are falling behind, but the media just can't bring itself to report that reality.  Instead, the media is still trying to paint things in a good light for president Biden.

Happy Halloween Glasgow Style

 The world climate summit is taking place in Glasgow as I write this.  World leaders and climate bigwigs have flown in on their private jets and then driven in fleets of cars to the summit so that they can wring their hands and decry the people who produce major carbon emissions.  But they're supposed to be saving the planet from temperatures rising by 2 degrees or so.

But think about these facts:

1.  20 years ago, we were told by climate cognoscenti that if nothing serious were done, in ten years it would be too late to prevent major warming and all manner of disasters.  Carbon emissions increased over those ten years in nearly every country but no disaster came  10 years ago, we were told by climate cognoscenti that if nothing serious were done, in ten years it would be too late to prevent major warming and huge disasters.  Some countries decreased emissions in a major way - the USA for example -- by others like China and India increased their emissions by more than the decline in the rest of the world.  No disasters came.

3.  The biggest single reduction in carbon emissions resulted from horizontal drilling and fracking so that natural gas production rose by huge percentages and reduced prices.  Utilities that burned coal, switched to natural gas and cut emissions by about 70%.  Of course, when Old Joe Biden took office, the first week he delayed leasing federal lands for natural gas production and banned fracking for the time being on federal land.  Some states with liberal Democrat governors followed suit.  After all, their mantra is "rossil fuels are bad/"  As a result of these moves, the supply of nat gas decreased and prices rose.  Right now they have doubled in the USA in the ten months that Biden has been in office.  Millions of Americans who heat their homes with natural gas are paying twice as much as a year ago, and with winter coming, that price increase will really hit home for those families.  From a climate standpoint, though, Biden and his allies have actually managed to raise the price of nat gas so high that some utilities are switching back to cheaper coal.  COAL!!!  That means that those plants that switch will emit three to four times as much as they did while burning gas.  It could be enough that this year or next, the USA may go back to increasing carbon emissions.  Thanks Joe!

Look, there really is no definitive proof that humans have contributed to climate change.  Earth has been warming unsteadily since 1816.   Between 1900 and 1940 warming was by the same amount as was the case over the last 40 years.  Everyone agrees, however, that during 1900-1940 there was no human contribution to warming.  So we had the same warming with or without human carbon emissions.  But even if there is a human contribution to global warming, misguided policies that raise emissions while raising prices for average Americans to heat their homes and fuel their cars are, at best, idiotic.  Someone has to explain that to Old Joe and hope that he has enough functioning brain cells left to understand his mistake and change course.  Doubtful.

Hey it's only 450

 Pentagon confirmed today that there are "only" 450 American citizens still trapped in Afghanistan after old Joe Biden's "glorious victory" of pulling out our forces and leaving citizens, and tons of war material behind.  It's appalling that 450 Americans are still in Afghanistan and we are doing nothing, NOTHING, to get them out.  Remember that after the hasty pull out, the Biden spokesperson told us that there might be as many as 100 Americans still in the country.  Now we quietly get word that after almost three months have passed there are actually four and a half times as many stranded citizens.

THIS IS A NATIONAL DISGRACE!!!!!

Biden should have his people working night and day to get these hostages out.  Instead, they are busy negotiating with Iran while the Iranians thumb their noses at the USA and complete work on their nukes.  

It's hare to imagine a worse president than Biden.  Even Jimmy Carter tried to rescue the captives in Iran.

Once again The Morons aka the Dems get what they deserve

 When Old Joe Biden took office, he immediately took "action" against fossil fuels to "help" in the battle against climate change.  The administration made all sorts of statements and took numerous bows to take credit for their great environmental policies.  As usual, though, it was all for show.  In actual fact, what Biden and the Dems have done has actually INCREASED carbon emissions which are supposedly the cause of climate change.  Let me explain:

1.  Over the last 20 years before Biden, American production of natural gas has soared and the price of that fuel has plummeted.  The fracking revolution opened enormous reserves of nat gas As a result, power plants that used to burn dirty coal changed to clean natural gas.  Carbon emissions is the USA decreased as a result by much more than any other developed country in the world.  And as an extra dividend, power costs were kept low.

2.  When Biden took office, he banned fracking on federal lands, stopped leasing certain lands for any natural gas production, took steps to limit oil production and stopped the Keystone Pipeline which allowed production of enormous quantities of Canadian oil that kept prices down.

3.  It has taken a while, but the price of natural gas in the USA has doubled.  Supplies are short so prices have spiked.  Oil prices have also soared, but not by as big a percentage.  Just ask anyone who buys gasoline, and they will tell you.

4.  As a result of soaring prices for natural gas, power plants are beginning to switch to burning coal or oil to produce energy.  Each such switch sends huge quantities of extra carbon into the atmosphere.  That's right, carbon emissions are rising again as a result.  Remember a coal fired plant produces about six times the emissions of a natural gas power plant.  Oil produces 65% more emissions than natural gas.

5.  On top of everything else, prices for the average American for gasoline and electric power are soaring.  Once again, this is thanks to the Biden/Dem inability to understand how markets work.  When Biden cut the supply, the law of supply and demand drove prices up, and is continuing to do so.

6.  It's hard to imagine that Biden and the Dems didn't know what the result of their idiotic policies would be.  Indeed, the principal beneficiaries of all the new government "environmental" policies are the big oil and natural gas companies.  They get to sell their products for multiples of the price during the Trump years.  Most likely, Biden is paying back big oil/gas for all those campaign contributions that they poured into his campaign.  The Dems say they care about the average American, but their actions prove that they don't.  Biden has engineered a major cash transfer from the average American to the big oil companies and has undermined the so-called fight against climate change to boot.

Don't forget this next time you get to vote.

Head of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff Under Oath Before Congress Today

 Here's the testimony of the head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff as reported by the New York Post today.

While Milley declined to share the personal recommendation he gave to Biden in the past few months, he did reveal that he recommended the US maintain around 2,500 troops in Afghanistan. 

“I also have a view that the withdrawal of those forces would lead inevitably to the collapse of the Afghan military forces, and eventually the Afghan government,” Milley added. 

The revelation comes one month after Biden denied any military advisors wanted troops to remain in Afghanistan, telling ABC’s George Stephanopoulos: “No one said that to me that I can recall.” 

So Milley reveals that Biden lied to the American people about his conduct during the disaster that left hundreds of American citizens stranded in Afghanistan in the clutches of the Taliban and which also resulted in the collapse of the friendly government in that country to be replaced by the terrorists who brought us 9-11.

Most likely, Milley won't be in his post much longer.  One thing is clear about the Biden White House:  it won't tolerate people telling the truth if it makes Biden look bad.

The worst thing is that we will have another three plus years of this liar who won't own up to his mistakes in the White House.

 Congress is considering bestowing the Congressional Gold medal on the 13 military personnel who were killed in a bomb attack in Kabul during the chaotic US withdrawal from Afghanistan a month ago.  Are they kidding in DC?

Biden and his team mess up the withdrawal so that US troops are targets and hundreds of Americans get left behind.  Congress will make it all better by giving medals to those troops who died.  What BS.  Congress won't take action to force out the morons who planned this fiasco, but it will give medals to dead men and women.

 News reports say that VP Harris is heading to California to try to help governor Newsome avoid the effort to recall him from office.  given Harris' track record, this is very bad news for Newsome.  With Harris speaking for him, Newsome may actually lose.

It's Truly Crazy

In March of 2020, the USA made an agreement that it would withdraw from Afghanistan in one year provided that the Taliban met certain conditions.  The main condition was for the Taliban to reach a peace deal with the Afghan government. That was the so called Trump deal for a US withdrawal.  The Taliban never even made a serious effort to reach an agreement with the Afghan government.  In other words, that 2020 deal was of no consequence.

I point this out because Old Joe Biden once again yesterday said that we had to withdraw because he was bound by the deal Trump reached.  It's truly crazy BS coming from the president.  Consider this:

1.  Biden claims to have been bound by the Trump deal, but he unilaterally changed that deal from a March withdrawal to a September withdrawal.  Clearly, Biden didn't feel bound when he delayed the withdrawal by six months.

2.  There was no treaty; it was just a deal negotiated by the Trump administration.  Biden, as president, had full authority to withdraw from the deal at any time.  The Trump deal had no legally binding effect.

3.  After blaming Trump for the withdrawal, Biden actually claimed credit for it.  Even at his level of senility, Biden should understand that you can't blame someone else for something and then take credit for the same thing.

All Biden had to do was to insist on proper planning for the withdrawal.  First the military equipment should have come out, then the civilians, then the embassy staff and LASTLY the military.  Biden authorized withdrawal of all US forces before the civilians, before the embassy staff and before removing the equipment.  The Taliban now have one of the largest armored forces in the world since they took over hundreds of American made tanks in Afghanistan.  The Taliban now has helicopters.  They have all manner of weapons that will strengthen them for years to come.  The Taliban now have ready made American hostages in the hundreds of US citizens (maybe thousands) that Biden stranded in Afghanistan.

It's hard for me to remember anything this bad ever done by an American president.

In less than two weeks we will see the anniversary of 9-11.  We all remember Benghazi which was a terrorist attack on the US consulate there on 9-11.  At that time, the Obama-Biden administration had no forces on alert to respond to such an attack.  As a result, Americans died at the hands of the terrorists eight hours after the attacks began and many hours after a force could have been sent to stop the attacks.  Let's hope that Biden is at least preparing for this anniversary.  I doubt he is.  Time will tell.

 According to the American Humane Society, Joe Biden left behind the army’s k9 dogs in cages at the Kabul airport. It’s unthinkable that these animals may now become dinner for the Taliban

Leve No One Behind

 In the proud tradition of the US armed forces, the statement is often made that they leave no one behind.  Old Joe Biden has changed that.  He left a ton of people in Afghanistan.  That's Americans, not Afghans.  Biden didn't leave one or two or even ten or twenty.  He left way more than 50, indeed, way more than a hundred.  Biden left many hundreds and perhaps many thousands of American citizens stranded in Afghanistan in the clutches of the Taliban.  No doubt Biden will tell us that the Taliban are just nice men trying to get by in a cruel world.  After all, we only spent twenty years at war with them.  They must be nice, right?  They're using American helicopters as scaffolds and literally hanging people from them as they fly over the capital city, but Joe must think these are a partner for future progress, right?

In the single most idiotic move ever, Biden decided to pull out US forces without first taking American citizens out of the country or even giving those people a chance to depart.  It was worse than cutting and running.  It was an act of calculated cruelty and cowardice.  Biden has exposed huge numbers of Americans to torture and death.  He must be so proud.  No doubt someone in the media will nominate JoJo for the Nobel Peace Prize, although in his case it might be the Nobel Piece of CRAP prize.  The only thing that Biden's presidency will be noted for is that in the first half year in office, Biden made all other presidents look like shining heroes.  He's a shoo-in for worst president EVER!!!!!!!!!!

How Many ????

 The worst thing I’ve seen recently was a simple question ask of the Department of Defense. It was short. “ How many Americans remain in Afghanistan?”  Answer: “We don’t know “

The airlift out is winding down, but we don’t know how many Americans are left?  WEDON’T KNOW!!!!!  Do we just abandon Americans while we bring Afghans out?

This is the most incompetent action by the US government in living memory. Biden gets all the blame in my book. The world and the evil in it a real. Life is not a photo op. Someone actually has to be in charge!!  Apparently no one is!

Congrats to Biden -- His mess got more US soldiers killed today than for the last year

 The first inevitable attack on the Kabul airport in Afghanistan happened today.  Biden's strategy of putting thousands of US forces in the airport but nowhere else in the country made it too tempting a target for the Taliban  Of course, the Taliban blames ISIS and denies responsibility.  Surprise!

More American troop died today due to Biden's idiocy than had died in the previous year in Afghanistan.  When you put a lying moron in the White House who only cares about photo ops, this is what you get.  Trump was a braggart with a bizarre personality who said some pretty weird things.  Still, when it came to being president, he cared about the outcomes and he DID some very good things.  This mess would NOT have happened under him.  Instead we have feeble Joe who says nice things even if they're obviously not true or consistent with what he said the day before.  He just seems unable to do anything with competence.

It's sad that US troops and Afghan civilians had to lose their lives as a result of Old Joe.

Another Day, Another Lie

 Don't the people at the Biden White House get tired of telling lies?  Clearly the answer is NO!

Just look at Afghanistan.

Biden was warned by the military and intelligence forces that an American withdrawal of all troops would lead to a total collapse of the Afghan government and the takeover by the Taliban.  Biden told the American people there was essentially no chance the Taliban would take over.  That's a rather major lie.

Biden knew that the Taliban was killing women for not wearing burqas, killing men who were important cogs of the collapsed government, and killing people in the streets who were refusing to cooperate with the Taliban.  There are enough murders that pictures of these deaths have been scattered across some US newspapers.  Biden still said just two days ago that no one had died at the hands of the Taliban.  LIE!

Biden tried in June to get Russia to agree to the stationing of US forces in places surrounding Afghanistan that were parts of the old Soviet Union.  Someone still has to explain why the USA would ask Russia about the disposition of American forces in countries that are not part of Russia.  Nevertheless, Biden told Americans that there was no need for further American involvement with Afghanistan while he was trying to arrange just that.  LIE

There are many more lies on this topic.  Biden has squandered the trust of the American people.

Look, it doesn't take a military genius to realize that in a pull out, the USA should have removed its big weapons and equipment first, then American citizens, then embassy personnel and finally the military.  Biden chose to do all that in reverse by removing the military first with the result that the Taliban now have 1000's of potential American hostages with the USA having essentially no chance of retrieving them absent Taliban goodwill.  (Just writing Taliban goodwill makes me cringe.)

We need an honest assessment of the situation and a competent review of how best to get our people out.  Sadly, Biden doesn't seem up to producing either.

Who Is Biden Kidding?

 I waited before posting about Joe Biden's speech on Afghanistan.   My initial reaction was anger at the dishonesty and I did not want to speak out of anger.  After a day of reflection, however, I still consider the speech to be completely dishonest.  In essence, what Biden said was "I have always been against the war in Afghanistan and wanted to have no troops there, but I had to end the war now because President Trump made an agreement that called for a US troop withdrawal.  Huh?  If you were always against that war, Joe, and if you wanted no troops there, it surely wasn't due to an agreement made by Trump that you were reluctantly withdrawing US forces.  Your claim makes no sense.  Either you were always against the Afghan war (even while the Obama/Biden administration multiplied the number of US troops in the country by five times), or you were fine with US troops in Afghanistan were constrained by the agreement Trump made.  It can't be both.  And while we're considering Biden's lies, perhaps someone in the administration could explain why an agreement made by Trump could not have been undone or modified by Old Joe.  There was no binding treaty; there just was a tentative agreement made by Trump.

Let's be clear:  what is happening in Afghanistan is not just an embarrassment for the USA, it is a major disaster for this country.  Why should any regional power accept assurances of support from team Biden who abandon a long term ally on what seems like a whim?  

It's hard to imagine that Biden, in just six months in office, could 1) bring back inflation in a major way, 2) undermine and destroy Afghanistan after thousands of Americans died to protect freedom there, 3) allow Iran to attack international shipping and go all out developing nukes, 4) completely abandon enforcement of our southern border, and 5) stand by incompetently while COVID makes a startling comeback.  Biden's term is only about 15% complete.  What disasters await the USA in the remaining 85% of his term.  And, God forbid, when Biden leaves after his term (or more likely is pushed out in his wheel chair), it VP Harris follows him, America's days as a world power or even a civilized nation may be at an end.

Hopefully, in 2022, the nation's voters will oust the Dems from control of Congress.  Sadly, though, Biden and his incompetence will be in the White House until 2025.

Someone Needs To Explain This

 For almost 20 years, the USA has worked to build up the army of Afghanistan.  Now that country is being taken over by Taliban terrorists as Joe Biden ignores the mess and tries to re-enact the fall of Saigon.  Someone needs to explain where the Afghan army is.  Why are they just collapsing in the face of the Taliban?  What happens to all those women who went to school in the last two decades?  Will the Taliban just execute them?  How about everyone who worked for the government in Afghanistan?  Will the be tortured, killed or just re-educated?  There are literally millions of Afghans at risk of death at the hands of the Taliban but Joe Biden seems unconcerned.  His big issue today seems to be what flavor pudding they will serve with his lunch.  It's a true disgrace!

It's Undemocratic and Unconstitutional

 You have to laugh at the typical response from the Democrat shills in the media to the recent polling in the California recall election.  The Democrat governor of that state is facing an election as to whether he will remain in office or be removed by the voters.  Two million people signed petitions to bring about this election.  Now all California voters will make the decision on the governor's future.  The funny thing is that polls show the election very close with the momentum moving against the governor.  In typical fashion, the media arm of the Democrats (the mainstream media) is now denouncing the recall election as undemocratic and unconstitutional.  It's hysterical.  Letting California's voters decide the future of their governor in an election is "undemocratic".  Giving power to the people is unconstitutional?

The reality is that the Democrats are scared that they could lose power in Sacremento.  Oh, the horror!  And if they lose, it must be undemocratic, right?  

The truth is that this is just another new low for the media.

So the "Good" war is lost

 I know it isn't politically acceptable to remind people of what Democrats have said in the past, but the current collapse of the Afghan government and the impending victory by the Taliban is too important to ignore (unless you are a reporter for the New York Times).  As I write this, the Taliban have taken eleven provincial capitals in the last week since their offensive began.  The Afghan army into which the USA poured huge resources has just cut and run.  Collapse is too nice a word for it.  It's more a disappearance than a collapse.  Things have gotten so bad inside Afghanistan that Biden is sending at least 3000 marines just to guard the US embassy and to protect our other troops as they are pulled out of the country.  It looks just like the fall of Saigon in 1975.  It's a total and embarrassing American defeat.

The strange thing is that Biden and his people had many months to plan the withdrawal.  They didn't do it though.  They had plenty of time to reach an agreement with the Taliban that would have delayed the Taliban takeover until after we were gone.  They didn't. Instead we have chaos, disaster and total embarrassment for the USA.  Sounds just like what Biden would want.

In 2008, Barack Obama campaigned for months against the Iraq War.  He always said that our efforts in Afghanistan were valid but Iraq was a mistake. He called Afghanistan the "good war".  Once he and Biden won, they sent over 100,000 troops to Afghanistan to finish off the Taliban once and for all.  Of course, as soon as the troops got there, Obama/Biden announced a phased withdrawal and put severe limits on the freedon of action of our forces.  The result was that the war was never won and the Taliban learned that our words and deeds were not consistent.

It truly pains me to think of the thousands of American soldiers who have died in Afghanistan only to be abandoned along with the Afghan people as Biden cuts and runs.  I'm truly furious.

Kunduz Is No News

 Kunduz is a provincial capital in northern Afghanistan. It is also the fifth provincial capital to be conquered by the Taliban in the last ten days. American forces are being completely withdrawn by Biden and as a result, the country is going back to Taliban rule. They’re the folkls who brought us 9-11. In other words, it’s a catastrophe. 

You would think the collapse of the Afghan forces before we’re even completely ouu would be splashed across the front page of every American paper. Of course, that news is hardly mentioned in the media. The reporters can’t have  Biden looking bad. Sad!

Cuomo No Mo

 The creepy governor of NY, former progressive hero and currently slimy alleged criminal, Andrew Cuomo has resigned.  Facing certain impeachment, Cuomo chose to go instead.  My guess is that he is hoping to avoid prosecution for the many crimes alleged by the NY Attorney General.  I hope he is still prosecuted.  

The new governor is a virtual unknown in most of the state.  I would be willing to bet that fewer than 10% of NY's people would recognize either her picture or her name.  I purposely haven't mentioned her.  Just think to yourself, who is NY's new governor?  Do you know?  So the Empire state now has a nobody as governor.  Today is one of those days when a nobody is much better than a famous somebody.

What’s The Story With Unilever?

 Unilever is one of the world’s largest sellers of consumer goods. It’s another corporate giant that looks for profit everywhere. That’s ok, it’s our economic system. Now however, Unilever has decided to become political. It stopped selling Ben and Jerry’s ice cream in the West Bank area of Israel to protest the “occupation “ of the area. Until ever has taken a stand. 

The key here though is that Unilever still sell the ice cream in Iran. That country supports terrorism. It just used drones to attack a ship in the Persian Gulf which resulted in multiple deaths. Iran kills gays, denies all rights to women , and prosecutes all religious minorities. Unilever is fine with that; Ben and Jerries is sold across Iran. What’s a little murder, terrorism and hate in Iran when there’s a buck to be made for Unilever?

And the we have Syria where Unildver also sells Ben and Jerries. The Syrian government killed close to 1 million people and wiped out whole minority populations in the last decade. So even genocide doesn’t bother Unilever. They just keep selling their ice cream to the war criminals

So Now We're Changing Definitions?

 The media was filled with stories this week about the 2 month recession in the spring of 2020.  What a joke.  One or two down months do not make a recession; that is clear.  We need at least two quarters of economic contraction before a recession can be called.  The magnitude of a one or two month contraction doesn't matter.  The must be a six month period of contraction at a minimum.

So why the rush to change the definition and call a two month contraction a "recession?"  Isn't it obvious?  Those two months were during the Trump years.  Now the media can talk about how Trump brought us a recession.  That will play well once the Biden recession starts next quarter.  Biden won't be breaking about 12 years without a recession.  No, Biden will just be brought down by the terrible after effects of the recession brought in by Trump.

Why can't there be a modicum of honesty from the media?

Those Pesky Facts

 After reading the 25th article on the need for gun control to stop the “epidemic” of murder, I though it might be instructive to look at how other countries have handled the issue. I looked at a few countries in South America (Ecuador and Brazil), Central America and the Caribbean (curacao and Jamaica), Europe (Russia and Estonia), Africa (South Africa and Nigeria) and Asia (Pakistan and Yemen). In each of these countries, the murder rate is significantly higher than it is in the USA, even with the major surge in murders here in 2022

Then there’s the fact that nearly every murder in the USA is NOT committed using so called assault weapons. It’s less than 2% of the total

What stops street crime is effective policing which is hard to get while the Dems are busy defunding those programs. Somehow we need to get back to factbased law enforcement rather than bogus left wing ideology. 

DACA Finally Gets The Boot -- It's Unconstitutional

 A federal judge in Texas ruled yesterday that the program protecting illegal aliens who were brought here as children is unconsitutional.  The problem is not the content of the program but rather that President Obama simply did it by Executive Order when he clearly did not have the power to do so under the Constitution.  An act of  Congress was required to change the law in this way.

There is no real question that the ruling is correct.  Indeed, Obama himself said on many occasions prior to announcing DACA that he simply did not have the power to put such a program in place.  Obama acknowledged that Congress had to act but then chose to ignore the Constitution and just try to do it himself.  Obama knew that eventually the program would fall, and now it has.

President Trump tried to get Congress to act on this, but the Democrats blocked any compromise to keep the program in place.  Even now, it seems clear that the Dems don't want to compromise.  They are talking about changing the immigration law through reconciliation -- something that is impossible if the Senate Rules are actually followed.

It would be great if the Congress could reach a compromise bill to protect these people.  After all, it is not their fault that they were brought here by there parents years ago.  A simple compromise would continue allowing "dreamers" who have registered to continue to work without fear of deportation (assuming they are not committing other crimes or promoting gang violence.)  It would also allow them to apply for US citizenship which could be obtained after an appropriate waiting period -- something like the wait that legal immigrants have to meet.  They would also have to show that they have paid their taxes on past employment and otherwise complied with the law.  Congress could also make other changes like getting rid of the visa lottery which unfairly penalizes many who have waited patiently and legally for immigrant visas.  It would also be good to limit some of the family ties that allow for green cards to be issued, but that would be up to Congress.

The judges ruling ought to be a call for reason and compromise to prevail.  It won't.  There is just no appetite for compromise in DC.  Even Biden immediately shot down any compromise when he commented on the court's ruling.  It's too bad we have a president who only says he wants compromise but NEVER, NEVER means it.

Can't Common Sense Triumph Over Trump Hatred?

 About half the country really didn't like President Trump.  Nearly every Democrat party activist hated our former president.  I get that.  When Biden won and took office he and his people did all they could to reverse many of Trump's policies.  Sometimes the reversals were on a political basis and sometimes it was just due to Trump hatred.  Still, Biden just took an action to reverse a Trump policy that can only be described as insanity.

One of Trump's big achievements was the Abraham Accords.  Trump and his team actually managed to facilitate peace between Israel and four Arab countries with more, including Saudi Arabia, likely to follow.  It was the first progress towards a Mid-East peace in over 20 years.  Biden's State Department stopped supporting these accords once in office.  Now, Biden is actually taking steps to undermine these accords.

One part of the Abraham Accords was was the establishment of a fund to promote economic growth of the participants in the peace deals.  The US contribution to the fund was $5 billion.  In the context of Biden's spending proposals, $5 billion is like spare change.  Nevertheless, Biden just acted to freeze any contribution by the USA to the fund.  Amazingly, Biden and his party are so opposed to anything connected to Trump that they are prepared to undermine peace in the region just to undo a Trump accomplishment.  It's not just bizarre; it's also disgusting.

Watching the Collapse

 During the Obama years, nothing much really happened once Obamacare was passed.  The Democrats never used their massive majorities to change the immigration laws or to enact major climate change legislation or to deal with any of the other favorite plans of the left.  They talked about all of them, but given overwhelming control of the government they really did very little.  They preferred talking and photo ops to actual action (which they knew wouldn't actually work.)  

The Biden administration seems to be pushing towards the same inaction.  Sure, Congress passed the COVID "relief" bill which was mostly a payoff to various Dem constituencies.  The Dems haven't passed their tax bills, their infrastructure bills, their climate legislation or any of the myriad of other favorites of the far left.  They seem to be leaderless and rudderless.

How can the Dems expect this inaction from the party of government will play with the American people.  The Dems spend years saying the government should handle this or that only to do nothing once they are in control.  They seem to be trying to prove the point that government can't really solve much of anything.

Is it possible that the Dems really want to be in opposition where they can complain and complain and denounce the "racist" Republicans and complain some more?  Every so often they get power so that they can have the federal government pay off their supporters, but that's about all.

At the moment, I am watching the collapse of the Dems who will surely lose the House and Senate in 2022.  It truly seems as if that is what they actually want.

How bizarre.

The Media Doesn't Understand Joe Manchin

 I saw yet another article this afternoon about how Nancy Pelosi hopes to back Joe Manchin into a corner so that he will have to vote for the ridiculous 6 trillion dollars extra spending bill being pushed by the left.  Clearly, the people who writes such pieces are morons, and that's being kind.  Manchin is a senator from West Virginia.  His vote is crucial if the Dems are to pass their crazy spending bill. The problem for the Dems, though, is that West Virginia is an extremely Republican state.  Trump's margin there was almost 40% in 2020.  There are no statewide Democrat office holders aside from Manchin.  

The idea that Pelosi would think that causing upset for the Democrats in WV would motivate Manchin is preposterous.  Manchin won election bevause he was not a typical Dem and would not tolerate their nonsense is what got him elected.  He knows that.  So does Pelosi.  

Is Biden Falling Apart??

 Old Joe Biden has been in office for about 4.5 months.  That's approaching 10% of his term.  The Democrats have control of Congress, although that control is by a narrow margin.  So what has Biden and his party accomplished and what is likely to come next?

Clearly, Biden's biggest achievement was passing a massive spending bill in the guise of COVID recovery.  Some of the spending was indeed directed at COVID.  Americans got stimulus checks from the federal government and that will and has boosted the economy.  The unemployed got extended increased payments each week due to COVID caused unemployment.  Of course, that led to a worker shortage as people found it more profitable to stay at home and get about the same from unemployment benefits as they got from working.  Indeed, a large number of states led by Republicans governors have now ended the increased unemployment benefits.  The result has been astounding.  The unemployment rate in states with Republican governors is more than a full 2 percentage points less than the rate in Democrat led states.  In many places, that is due to states opening back up more quickly under Republican governors than under Democrats.  A good comparison is New York and Florida which have comparable populations.  The unemployment in NY is among the highest in the nation.  In Florida, it is much, much lower.  But let's get back to the supposed COVID relief bill.  Biden and the Dems sent hundreds of billions to states to bail them out from reckless spending.  Of course, the states that needed help were all large Democrat led states that spent huge amounts and then spent more.  Republican led states like Texas didn't need the help.  The Dems even banned states from lowering taxes due to the federal largesse.  They couldn't have more people flee from NY or CA or IL to the lower taxes of states like FL or TX.  The COVID bill also gave a major gift to the teachers' unions who worked so diligently to keep the kids from getting the in-person education that they need.

But what else has Biden accomplished?  American foreign policy is in shambles.  Biden has made overtures to Iran and gotten the Ayatollah's raised middle finger in response.  Biden rejoined the Paris accords as if that meaningless agreement will make any change with regard to the climate.  He's also watched while the crime rate across America has soared.  Murder is up over 60% this year compared to last year.  Most of that increase is in the big Democrat led cities.  So far, Biden has done nothing to try to stop the increase.  All we have heard is the usual Democrat mantra about the need for gun control.  They have yet to address how keeping guns out of the hands of normal citizens will stop well armed criminals from committing murder.

And let's not forget the mess at the border.  Trump had managed to get the flow of illegals into the USA to drop by more than 75% while in office.  In just 4 months, Biden has brought the number of illegals entering the country right back up to where it was when Obama left office.  At the same time, Biden is keeping kids in cages at detention facilities but blocking any media that wants to cover the story from access to these sites.  Biden is also proposing that all illegals get full benefits from the government without any limitation.  One can only imagine what the average person in Central America thinks when he or she hears that by coming to the USA illegally, they can get free medical care, housing assistance, welfare, phones, and the like.  Any sane person would leave immediately for the southern border.

Biden has been talking about what he calls an infrastructure bill, although it mostly leaves our most things that are traditionally considered infrastructure (like roads, bridges, etc.)  No, Biden now has infrastructure being composed of more government welfare payments.  This seems likely to fail, although one never knows.

Then there are Biden's schemes to raise all sorts of taxes.  There are direct raises, like increasing the tax rate on American companies so that it will be harder for them to compete with China and other countries.  There are also indirect increases like Biden's efforts to stop production of oil and gas with the result that gas prices have soared, thereby taxing each person in the USA who uses a car.  Just think what the increase in the gas price from $2.50 per gallon to $4.00 has done to you.

Biden ran dishonestly as a moderate.  In the first four months, he's governed as an totally incompetent version of Alexandria Ocasio Cortes and her socialist crew.  It hasn't gone well.

It will be interesting to see if Biden is able to shift course to one more acceptable to the American majority.  I doubt it.  It's early still, but I predict that barring a major change by the Dems, Biden will spend the second half of his first term dealing with a large Republican majority in the House and a Senate again under Republican control.

How Dare The Israelis Defend against terror attacks!!!!!

 The usual leftist morons and liars are at it again. Israel has been defending itself against unprovoked terror attacks by Hamas in every major Israeli city. The lefts response is to side with the terrorists and call the Israeli response “genocide”.  The US media — ever the servant of the left— is presenting the story as if there’s no right or wrong involved. Imagine The NY Times eXplaining in 1941 after Pearl Harbor that the US needed to curtail any response to an unprovoked Japanese surprise attack that killed 3000.  No way. When Hamas terrorists launch thousands of missiles at Israel, though, the Times wants restraint and no response. It’s disgusting that the left is so blinded by ideology and anti Semitism that they can’t see the actual reality. 

And let’s not forget the buffoon in chief, Old Joe himself, who is “even handed” rather than supporting our ally which has been attacked by Islamic terrorists. 

Just over 100 days and we get THIS

 In just the two weeks, these items have happened:

1.  A large group of Iranian gunboats came out an "swarmed" six US Navy ships in the Persian Gulf.  The American ships fired warning shots, but did nothing to actually stop the Iranians from their dangerous harassment.  It was Iran's way of telling the USA to go stuff it regarding the supposed negotiations underway with the mullahs.

2.  The Palestinian terror group Hamas instigated rioting in certain Arab neighborhoods in Jerusalem.  Then they issued an ultimatum to Israel to stop dealing with the rioting.  Then Hamas used all this as an excuse to launch a massive missile barrage from Gaza against Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and many other Israeli cities.  Many have been injured despite Israel's anti-missile systems.  There have also been deaths from the missile strikes.  In response, Israel launched attacks against Hamas military targets in the Gaza strip.  So far, the USA has done nothing about this terror attack.  The Biden administration has, however, issued a call for "de-escalation".

3.  Since Biden became president, more than twice the number of illegals have crossed the Southern border of the USA than was the case in the last twelve months of the Trump administration, and the numbers a growing each month.  That means that in April, the numbers crossing the border illegally was more than 8 times the average of such crossings during 2020.  Biden has done nothing about this surge except to say that there is no problem at the border.  On this subject, Biden doesn't even tell believable lies.

4.  A group of hackers from Russia took control of the pipeline system that brings 40% of the fuel needed on the East Coast.  The USA has done nothing in response.  Biden has not even called out the Russians.

We're back where we were when Obama was president.  The USA is a laughing stock.  Our enemies understand that we will do nothing to protect ourselves or help our allies. .Meanwhile, the crazies in Biden's party push for even more bizarre responses to these problems.  For example, Ilhan Omar, the Minnesota Democrat who is famous for marrying her brother and raising copious campaign cash that she then paid to her husband for "campaign services", said that the Israelis' attacks on Hamas launched in response to literally hundreds of missile attacks by Hamas on Israeli civilians was "genocide".  I gues that for Omar, any Israeli defense is unacceptable.

Whatever one thought of Trump, there is no question that his foreign policy was much more successful than this.  Iran didn't launch attacks on the USA when Trump was in office cause the mullahs knew that there would be a swift and overpowering response.  Also Hamas didn't launch these terrible terror attacks on Israel, because the terrorists knew that America would offer total support to the Israelis.  Similarly, the Russians didn't launch major cyber attacks on America.

We have another 3 and 2/3 years left of Biden and his buffoons.  God help the USA.

The Lies Have It

 Joe Biden actually said this week that the $1.9 trillion "COVID relief" package passed some six weeks ago is responsible for the American economic "recovery" and the media didn't even comment on that lie.  I call it a lie because Aside from the first part of the stimulus checks that went out electronically, none -- NONE-- of the items in the COVID relief package have yet been put into action.  In other words, less than 10% of the package has been carried out.  There's literally no way that this could have had much effect.  In addition, most of the economic data at the moment is from March or earlier.  April hasn't ended yet.  That means that the vast bulk of the data which shows whether or not the economy has "recovered" deals with a period BEFORE the relief package was even passed.  

The point is that there is no way to honestly credit the COVID package with the current status of the economy.  No way!  None!

This is not difficult to understand, but the media just ignores the blatant lying by the president.   

Cuomo Officially Done

 In the Spring of 2020 when COVID first hit the USA mostly in NY, I kept writing about the thousand who were dying in New York’s nursing homes because of the crazy policies of governor Cuomo who ordered the nursing homes to accept infected patients. The governor’s order spread the virus to elderly and weak patients who dropped like flies. Something like 14,000 died in two months. The media ignored the stories and instead made Cuomo a “hero”of the pandemic.  

When Biden took office, suddenly the Cuomo story resurfaced when the state AG disclosed a cover up by Cuomo and his people. Still the media kept the story on the down low.  That ended today. The NY Times now has done an expose of the cover up by Cuomo.  

What that means is Cuomo is toast

Biden Likely Blows up the Trial in Minnesota

 The trial about the death of George Floyd has likely been finally poisoned by Biden.  It was bad enough when Maxine Waters threatened the jurors if they ruled the wrong way.  She's just a crazy old congressman from California.  Her words led the trial judge to say that there may have to be a mistrial.  Now the jerky president of the USA has told the country that the police officer is guilty and needs to be convicted by the jury.  There's no way that news like that can be kept out of the jury room.  The officer was just denied a fair trial.

I know that Biden finished last in his class in law school.  Even so, he must have learned that the accused is entitled to a fair trial or he goes free.  Does Biden really want to have riots when that happens?  It sure seems so.

You Just Have To Laugh

 Periodically, when Democrats screw up bigtime and the GOP looks to capitalize on it, the media rushes out articles explaining why the course chosen by the Republicans is really a very bad thing for them.  This is now happening with the recall movement in California.  More than two plus million signatures were turned in this week to support recalling governor Newsom, the sad sack fool currently holding the office.  With that many signatures, the media is in a frenzy.  Thus, Yahoo published an analysis today "explaining" why a recall election is a bad thing for Republicans.  Remember, the Democrats hold every statewide office in California and have huge majorities in the legislature.  Yahoo, however, says that a recall vote will diminish Republican influence (I guess to less than zero.)

Newsome may survive the recall, but the anger at him and his administration is real.  Just being a Democrat is not enough for the governor to survive given the terrible job he has done. 

Biden in Chester

 President Biden made a 3 minute public appearance in Chester PA today.  Supposedly, Biden was touting the 1.9 trillion dollar stimulus bill, but the only thing he spoke about was the PPP which was passed and funded under Trump.  Of course, there's not much one can say in 3 minutes.

The trip to Chester, which is about a half hour from Biden's Delaware home was a non-event.  Since it was the kick off of Biden's tour promoting the stimulus, one has to wonder why Biden even went to Chester and what will the rest of the tour be like.  Maybe Biden will make a 60 second visit to Atlanta or fly over Columbus in Air Force One.  

Biden is a joke.

Cuomo may actually go!

 The Cuomo family has always a rough group.  I remember when Mario Cuomo ran against Ed Koch for mayor with the unofficial slogan "Vote for Cuomo, not the homo".  Koch, of course, was not married, so the Cuomo team called him a homosexual.  It was surely not the finest moment in NY politics.  Eventually, Mario was elected governor and re-elected twice.  Finally, he was ousted by George Pataki.  Probably, Mario's biggest moments came when he couldn't decide whether or not to run for president.  Thankfully, he never ran.

Then came his son Andrew Cuomo.  Andrew got his big break when President Clinton appointed him to be head of HUD.  Cuomo did a poor job, but the media praised him anyway.  After all, he was a Cuomo married to a Kennedy.   

Andrew got elected governor ten years ago.  Since then, he has managed to avoid scandal after scandal that has taken down nearly every powerful Democrat in Albany.  Andrew has done a terrible job a NY governor, however.  His worst moment came a year ago when he ordered nursing homes to accept patients diagnosed with COVID.  That move lead to thousands of deaths of nursing home residents who fell victim to the contagion that Cuomo forced into their residences.  All during the time that this wave of death swept over the state, the media treated him like a hero because he wasn't Trump.  The single most incompetent governor in the nation in preventing COVID deaths and handling the crisis was lionized when he should have been ousted from office.  Think of it.  Cuomo is the one whose administration "lost" 5000 ventilators supplied by the federal government and then complained of a shortage.  Cuomo demanded that a hospital ship from the navy come to NY harbor, and then didn't put patients in it.  Cuomo demanded that the feds turn the Javits Center in NYC into a 3000 bed hospital and then never put more than 140 patients into it.  The ship and the Javits Center alone could easily have housed all the nursing home patients sick with COVID thereby protecting something like 10,000 other nursing home residents who died from the disease.  There's more, but no matter how much Cuomo screwed up, the media treated him like a hero.

Now, seven (or is it eight) women have come forward to charge Cuomo with sexual harassment.  Cuomo denies the allegations, but in the great American tradition, he is now guilty before any hearing or trial has even been held.  All the state's Democrats are calling for their leader to resign, but he is refusing.  It's amazing to watch Cuomo go down not for undeniable misdeeds regarding COVID, but rather for unproven charges by a group of women.  Look, the charges may be true, we just don't know.  Still, it's great to watch Cuomo destroyed because he so clearly deserves to go.

 My daughter Julia is suffering from kidney failure.  She goes to dialysis three times a week so she can stay alive.  Her kidneys were destroyed by lupus from which she has suffered for 17 years.  Her main chance not just for survival but also for a decent life is a kidney transplant from a living donor.  Needless to say, it is not easy to find such a donor.  Sadly, no one in our immediate family is able to donate due to blood type or medical complications.  That's why we're searching for someone else to donate the kidney that will give Julia back her life.

Biden and the Dems "Rescue" America

 The Senate has passed the Dems 1.9 trillion dollar rescue stimulus.  It could have been much more targeted and much smaller.

First, there is still 1 trillion dollars unspent from the prior stimulus bills.  There is no "emergency" at the moment.

Second, the items that needed to pass such as extending unemployment benefits and supplements, money for vaccine distribution and testing, and the like total no more than half a trillion bucks.  The other one and a half trillion dollars is just items thrown in by the Dems to pay off their base.  Roughly 300 billion is going to state and local governments that don[t need the cash.  It will pay to make sure that no state employee unions have to be reasonable in their salary demands.  It will guarantee that rational spending will return to states like CA, NY or IL.

Third, all sorts of Dem wish list items are being rushed through without debate or even thought.  Americans will have to pay for these items for many years just so the Dems can reward their followers.  It will hurt, not help, the USA.

There's no surprise that the Dems and Biden have followed this course.  It's the same thing they did in 2009 under Obama.  Still, that course of action of helping their followers rather than the whole country led to the Dems' losing the House, the 'Senate, the state legislatures, the governors and the White House.  You would think the Dems would have learned, but they haven't.

Rush -- What Can One Say

 Rush Limbaugh has died from lung cancer.  What can I say?  The man who was the ever cheerful voice of conservatism for millions of Americans is gone.  So far praise is rolling in from all manner of Republicans.  I looked for a comment from the White House, but there is none yet.  I doubt Biden will have anything to say.

I could heap praise on Rush, but I will let others do that.  All I can say is that I will miss him greatly.

Ending Waste in Government

 The Senate just spent a week wasting time with an unconstitutional impeachment of a former president.  Now it's over.  Big deal!

President Trump was acquitted.  No surprise there.  Every Democrat ignored reality and voted to convict.  No surprise there either since they think this will help them politically.  (It won't)  All they have done is prove that the calls for "unity" were total BS.  It's much like Biden's pledge to fire any aide who failed to treat people appropriately.  Three weeks into his administration we learn that a deputy press secretary is sleeping with a reporter and threatening to destroy the career of another reporter who found out and was going to break the story.  Guess who wasn't fired?  That's right, the deputy press secretary.  Biden hasn't even offered an excuse for breaking this "solemn" promise.  It's just another lie.

Maybe now that the impeachment trial is over, Biden and the Democrats can try explaining their supposed policies.  So far, we have only gibberish and inane executive orders.  We can't just go for four years with the administration being opposed to Trump.  They're going to have to offer something.  Anything.  But don't hold your breath waiting for that.

Can Congress Impeach Itself

 I haven't watched even a second of the impeachment trial for President Trump.  The trial, like the last one, is devoid of evidence.  As a lawyer, it pains me to watch a mockery of supposedly legal proceedings staged for political purposes.  To date, there is no evidence that Trump incited any violence.  Indeed, he told the crowd on day of the demonstrations in the Capitol to be peaceful.  Those are hardly fighting words.  Last time, we had a transcript of exactly what Trump told the Ukrainian president, but we had an impeachment based upon hearsay evidence from people who didn't even hear the actual call.  Who were we to believe, the written transcript of the actual call, or the statements of witnesses who were just relaying what someone else told them had been said.

The Democrats have set a dangerous precedent.  They impeached the president twice for something other than the high crimes and misdemeanors that the Constitution requires.  If the GOP takes back Congress in 2022, will they feel the need to impeach Biden because he has done something they don't like.  For example, once Biden reinstates  DACA even though the president does not have the power to do so, will the GOP impeach Biden for going beyond his constitutional powers?  Why not?  The Dems did things like this.

I think it would be best for the country if Congress just resigned or impeached itself with a vote barring all members from ever running for office again.

 NY governor Cuomo was a star of the pandemic.  When things were at their worst in NY, the governor held daily news conferences each morning and was treated like a savior/genius by the media.   This was at the same time that then President Trump held daily news conferences covering much the same information and was treated as a moron or buffoon by the same media.  It was bizarre at the time, especially since Cuomo had ordered NY nursing homes to admit patients with the virus who then infected most of the residents of the homes and killed off a substantial percentage of them.  I wrote about this insane, indeed criminal, order by Cuomo many times, but the mainstream media never covered Cuomo's actions.  Something like 13,000 nursing home residents died in NY last spring, but Cuomo refused to admit the truth.  Now, the truth is finally coming out in the media.  We now have staff members of Cuomo who are admitting that they and the governor covered up the truth by lying about the numbers of nursing home residents who died from the virus and the cause of those deaths (the governor's order).

It's likely that nothing will come of this now.  Democrats rarely prosecute other Democrats.  Still, Cuomo should be written out of public life even if he avoids criminal prosecution.

Cuomo wasn't the only state official to do this stuff.  The health commission in PA issued a similar order that put sick patients into nursing homes, thereby killing thousands of residents.  That official, who defended the order repeatedly, took her own mother out of a nursing home in order to protect her from infection.  Lest you think that she will be punished with Cuomo, note that Joe Biden appointed her to a high position in his administration.  Apparently, ordering the death of thousands is just a minor annoyance if one is a Democrat, especially if one is a minority as was the case here (she is transsexual).

It's That Time Again -- The Media is Writing the Obit of the GOP

 I was struck this morming by an article in Salon proclaiming that the future of the Republican Party is bleak; according to the article, the GOP is now destined for oblivion.

Yawn

Whenever the Dems win an election, that is followed by a stream of articles proclaiming the Republican Party dead or, at least, dying quickly.

In 1965, after Barry Goldwater was crushed by Lyndon Johnson in the 1964 election, the media geniuses told us that the GOP was dead.  Two years later in 1966, the GOP swept congressional seats in a smashing victory.  By 1968, the "dying" GOP took the White House with Richard Nixon.

After Watergate, we were again told that the GOP was dead.  Jimmy Carter, indeed, did squeak past Gerald Ford to take the White House, but things go so bad for the Dems that the GOP then won the next three presidential elections -- easily.

By 1992, Bill Clinton won election to the presidency even though he got only about 42% of the vote.  We were told by the media that the GOP was either dead or dying.  During Clinton's time in the White House, the GOP regained control of Congress for the first time in 44 years.  Since then, the Republicans have held the House for 20 of the next 28 years.  They also won 4 of 7 presidential elections.

By the early 2000's, the media told us that the changing nature of American demographics would guarantee perpetual Democrat victory.  Obama did win, but while he was in the White House, the GOP took control of the House, the Senate, the governorships, the state legislatures, etc.  Somehow, that inevitable ethnic stranglehold of the Dems didn't work.  Even in 2020, Trump carried Hispanics in Florida and did better among minority groups that he did in 2016.  Sure Biden "won" in an election tarnished by fraud and bogus votes.  Nothing indicated, however, that GOP support had waned in any way.

It doesn't matter.  No matter the actual facts, the mainstream media morons are going to spend the next year telling us that the GOP is dead.  

It isn't.

They won't stop, however, because they don't care.  They never have.  For them, a good propaganda story is better than something based upon the truth.

The Media Flip On COVID

We're now on day 11 of the presidency of Old Joe Biden.  Let's take a look at the latest COVID numbers and the media response.

1. When Trump left office, the seven day average number of tests nationwide was just about 2 million per day.  There was a constant cry in the media that we had an inadequate national testing strategy.  Now, a week and a half later, the seven day average number of tests is 11% LOWER than it was when Trump left office.  The media, however, no longer even discusses testing strategy.

2.  Before he left office, Trump was saying that the vaccines which were speedily produced, tested and approved un his operation Warp Speed would end the pandemic for the most part.  The media laughed at that and derided Trump for "lying".  Today, under Biden, a saw an article headlined "Don't Look Now But the Vaccine Is Ending the Pandemic".  It was published by The Week, a reliably leftist rag.

3.  Under Trump the vaccination rate climbed quickly and hit just under a million per day on Inauguration Day.  Biden then came in and announced his big plan to do 1 million per day.  In other words, he had no plan.  The momentum that Trump left has pushed the daily rate of vaccination up to 1.3 million per day.  The impending approval of more vaccines developed under operation Warp Speed will enable that number to quickly double and then continue to rise.  No one in the mainstream media gives Trump any credit for achieving all this.

At the moment, something like 7% of the American people have been vaccinated.  These are all high risk people.  In the coming months, this vaccination program should cut the number of deaths due to the virus in a major way.  Cases will decline, but cases among groups that lose 10% or more of those infected will plummet in dramatic fashion.  The death rate should fall at an accelerated pace.

Without a doubt, when the death rate comes down, Biden and the Democrats will claim victory for themselves.  It's a tradition that the party in office takes credit for anything good that happens.  For example, Richard Nixon took credit for the moon landings that resulted from a program begun by Kennedy and pursued mostly under Johnson.  Still, it will be interesting to see if Biden even acknowledges the great efforts towards getting the nation vaccinated made by the Trump Administration.  Surely, the media will say nothing, but Biden and his "unity" talking point surely ought to do this.

Anyway, the good news is that things are moving in the right direction regarding the virus.  Let's enjoy the good news (even if it's not fully or accurately reported.)

The $15 Minimum wage

 According to a government study, raising the minimum wage  to $15 per hour will increase income for about 17 million people.  In the first year, however, it will also result in the loss of 1.3 million jobs.  That figure of jobs lost will increase over time.  Despite the job losses, the Democrats are pushing for the increase as part of the response to COVID which is being placed before Congress.

No one is discussing some of the other effects of a minimum wage increase.  These include higher prices as a result of businesses trying to recover their increased labor costs and a loss of jobs to other countries with low wages where profits are much higher.  Then there are the social costs that result as jobs for high school and college kids disappear at an alarming rate.  How many fast food restaurants will switch to automated ordering systems to save labor costs?  How many small businesses will be forced to close because they can no longer operate profitably due to higher labor costs?

And what happens when businesses decide to hire illegals "off the books" for lower wages?  The distortion of the markets that the increased minimum wage causes provides a major incentive for crimes of this sort.

Right now, the best thing for the US economy would be for Washington to encourage economic growth to CREATE jobs not to take actions to destroy millions of jobs.  Someone ought to explain this to the Democrats.

New President -- Same bs Polls

 When Donald Trump was president, the polls were normally wrong.  Now we got Old Joe Biden.  The polls are still wrong.  Today, the morning consult poll found that by a margin of 27% Americans approve of Biden's job performance.  At the same time, Rasmussen found that Americans approved of Biden's job performance, but by a margin of only 1%.  

There's no way these polls can both be correct.  Indeed, the difference is so large that at least one of the polls must be rigged.  For the moment, let's not decide which one is wrong.  Let's just consider how polling organizations can put out polls that are so clearly wrong.  It's a  travesty.

Making Biden's Lies Clear

 Biden has been in office for a week now.  That's not very long.  It's about a quarter of one percent of a four year term.  In that short time, however, Biden has made clear that he was lying repeatedly with regard to the American oil and gas industry and his plan to destroy that group of companies.  Remember, literally tens of millions of jobs held by Americans depend on the success of the US oil and gas industry.  In the space of seven days, Biden stopped the Keystone pipeline which is mostly constructed and which would have delivered about 5% of total US energy needs in the form of Canadian oil.  In one move, Biden put American energy independence in jeopardy, angered our Canadian allies, and put tens of thousands of workers building the pipeline out of a job.  Remember, this pipeline was approved four years ago and hundreds of millions of dollars, if not billions, were invested in construction based upon that government approval.  Biden, who said during the campaign that he had no intention of stopping the pipeline, now has done just that.

Then there's fracking and other methods for oil and gas production.  Yesterday, Biden banned any new oil or gas production on federal lands.  This does not pertain to the back yard behind a post office.  The federal government owns all offshore land as well as big chunks of the Western US.  In some states, the federal government owns over 75% of the entire state.  Biden effectively cut off production in a big part of the USA.  In some cases, the areas had already been leased for drilling by the federal government and Biden now is breaching those leases by banning production.

Biden is busy fighting "climate change".  Remember, in 2001, Al Gore told us that if we didn't stop climate change immediately, we were doomed in ten years.  By 2011, ten years later, we were told by climate activists that we only had 12 years left to fight climate change or we would face disaster.  Of course, the problem is that over the last 20 years, world temperatures have not risen in a statistically significant way.  Indeed, there is talk that the currently starting solar minimum could lead to a mini ice age.  No matter; despite the lack of warmer temperatures, every weather even is blamed on climate change.  When there were no hurricanes; it was climate change.  When there were many hurricanes, it was climate change.  Forest fires were due to climate change.  I'm sure there are those who think that the winner of the Super Bowl is determined due to climate change.

The key, here, however, is that Biden lied.  He promised repeatedly that he would not attack the oil and gas industry.  He lied.  The media won't point that out because Biden is a Democrat.   Still, the American people have to recognize Biden for the liar that he is (and has always been).

Biden Takes Action To Raise Drug Prices For Poor

 Last July President Trump signed executive orders that let federally funded health centers buy epi pens and insulin in bulk and then resell the items at cost to individual Americans thereby reducing costs by more than 30%. In his rush to undo everything Trump did, president Biden just put a hold on those orders. The effect of Biden’s actions is to once again put insulin and epi pens out of the reach of poor Americans. No doubt Biden will tell us he is fighting white supremacy or some other bit of nonsense. The truth though is that someone with a brain (not Biden) will have to realize that Trump did a lot of good things and that undoing everything Trump is a poor policy. Biden just attacked poor sick people!

So Hunter Finally Shows His Face

 Hunter Biden who is the target of a federal criminal investigation for alleged money laundering and tax evasion surfaced at yesterday’s inauguration. Hunter has been in hiding for months since his very presence reminds people of not only his own misconduct but also of Old Joe’s part in that mess. 

Hopefully Hunter will use his return to the public eye to actually provide some answers about his questionable conduct 

Biden's First Attempt Looks Like A Joke

President Biden unveiled his new anti COVID plan today by signing executive orders on the subject.  Biden set what he called an 'AMBITIOUS" goal of having one million vaccinations each day across America.  This was to replace the inadequate numbers under Trump.  The media cheered!

So now let's look where we are now.  In the last two weeks, the number of shots of the vaccines administered across the USA averaged 920,000 per day.  In other words, Biden set his goal at less than 10 higher than the current figure.  At Biden's goal rate, it would take two years for the nation to be vaccinated.

Biden's goal is a joke.  So is he.

The Joke Isn't Funny

 With the Trmp Presidency over, it's worth taking a moment to look at the BS pushed by the pollsters up to the very end.  This week Gallup found that by a 28% majority, Americans disapproved of Trump's job performance.  Rasmussen found that by a 3% majority Americans approved of Trump's job performance.

These both can't be correct.  Indeed, the difference is so great that at least one of them has to be either completely erroneous or, more likely, rigged.  Since these are major pollsters, error as a cause is unlikely.  That leaves intentional rigging.

Perhaps media ought to stop publishing polls.  Since 2016, the pollsters have been wrong about as often as they were correct.  The whole industry should be laughed out of existence.

The Polls Are A Joke

 In the 2020 election, the polls were all wrong.  Even on election night, the networks got it all wrong.  The Biden runaway victory predicted by the polls turned into a very close contest.  States like PA, MI, AZ, NV and GA that showed clear leads for Biden or up to 8% came in with margins of less than 1% for the most part.  When the polls closed in most states, some networks proclaimed that based upon their exit polls, the Dems had gained at least 5 and maybe as many as 15 seats in the House.  Actually, the GOP picked up something like 13 seats.

Given the poor performance of the pollsters, one would think that they would take more care now to get it right.  But they don't.  Today, we saw two polls concerning the public's view of President Trump's job performance.  Both polls were taken after the mess at the Capitol last week.  Rasmussen found the public disapproving of Trump's performance by a margin of 3%.  Quinipiac, however, found that the margin of disapproval was 24%.  That's impossible.  It is not a sampling error.  It has to be intentional.  The likelihood of these being two good faith polls with such different results is less than one chancer in ten billion.  One side or the other is rigging the results.

Throughout the last two years, Quinipiac has always shown results more favorable to the Dems by about 5-7 percentage points.  Even that margin does not account for the latest differential.

Realistically, the polls need to be ignored.  They are BS pushing BS results.

A New Low - and that ain’t easy

 Ready for this?  Now the story on the protest at the Capitol has morphed into a terrorist attack by white supremacists supported by the military. Really. The leftist crazies are frothing at the mouth as they continue to get more and more worked up over the protest. 

The left never misses an opportunity to go too far. Any sane person understands that this incident had nothing to do with race, had no military involvement and was hardly a terrorist attack.  As the crazies keep going, they will only lose support from those who can recognize BS for what it is. 

Congrats to Facebook and Twitter

 Facebook and Twitter and other social media outlets blocked the President of the United States yesterday for posting things that these companies did not agree with.  It was the ultimate in left wing censorship.

Be fair for a moment.  Trump has said many things about the election being stolen.  He has claimed that there was massive voter fraud to support Biden.  Tens of millions of Americans agree with him if the polls are to be believed.  One thing Trump never did, however, was to call for violence or any of the mess that happened at the Capitol yesterday.  No matter!  For the left wing social media elites, Trump was fomenting riots and violence by tweeting, etc to set forth his views about the validity of the election.  These self proclaimed final authorities now take it upon themselves to censor the President of our country.  They may not like what Trump says.  They can disagree with the facts he states or the arguments he makes.  They do not have the right to censor him, however.

Social media has now made it perfectly clear that they are on the side of the Democrats and the left.  Remember, these same people supposedly horrified by violence did nothing to stop BLM and its announcement of "peaceful demonstrations" that led to deaths, injuries, arson, looting and the like.  The same social media giants also never silenced the thugs of Antifa who commit all sorts of crimes in the name of "justice" and "anti-facism".  

There is no excuse for censorship by the social media companies.  Remember, Americans have the right to free speech and free assembly.  The content of what gets said or the point of the gathering does not matter.  No one should be censored.

There needs to be consequences for these social media companies.  What they are doing is unforgiveable.

So Explain This

 Today, protesters upset at the vote fraud that gave Joe Biden victory in November held a protest at the Capitol in Washington.  Among other things, they broke some windows and forced their way past Capitol Police and into the building.  The did not attack anyone.  It truly was a mostly peaceful protest.

To hear the media commentary, however, this was like the beginning of an uprising of white supremacists across America.  What total nonsense.  When BLM or Antifa held riots last Spring and Summer, we were told it was no big deal because they had a grievance and protest is totally American.  When they looted small and large businesses alike and beat up people in the street, we were told to ignore it because protest should not be stopped.  When Trump's supporters break some windows (and the police shoot and kill one unarmed woman), it's an insurrection, however.

 I don't condoned violence or vandalism by anyone, but let's not try to paint BLM and Antifa as anything saints nor to paint today's mob as the ultimate in sinners.  It's lies like that that lead to the sort of thing that happened today.

A New Year

 I want to take this opportunity to wish you all a very good new year.  There were some good things in 2020, but not many.  It was a truly awful year.  Let's hope 21 is a whole lot better.

Amazing Double Standard

 I just read the umpteenth article complaining the the Trump administration is not "fully cooperating" with the transition to Biden and his administration of mostly retreads from the Obama years.  It's an amazing double standard.  Remember, we now know for certain that during the transition from Obama to Trump, people at the highest levels of the government including Joe Biden himself schemed to create a phony narrative of "Russian collusion" and to ensnare many in the new Trump administration in that mess.  Biden and others tried to bring down President Trump and his people with phony criminal matters.  Four years later, the same group of retread thugs are complaining that they aren't getting enough meetings and access to the inner workings of the government from the Trumpsters.  Amazing!

Of course, the media is following the Dem line totally.  So what else is new?
