Obama strikes again -- higher oil price coming

The news is out today that Shell Oil has abandoned plans to drill for oil in the waters of the Beaufort Sea off the Alaskan coast this year. the move is the result of an administrative appeal within the EPA which results in the delay of the air emission permit granted to that company. First, let's be clear about the reason for the appeal. According to the government, there were no problems with emissions coming from the ships or drilling equipment that was to be used by Shell Oil. Instead, the issue to be dealt with on the appeal is the procedure that the EPA review staff used in issuing the permit in the first place. Got that? the government is delaying a multi-billion dollar oil project that would supply much needed domestic oil, create thousands of jobs and keep down the domestic price of oil because some bureaucrats at the EPA are fighting about the proper procedures to use in granting permits, even though there is no quesiton that the permit should have been granted.

The hostility of the administration to anything having to do with domestic energy production is so great that I cannot say that I am surprised that this has happened. The American people, however, need to know that when they pay higher prices for gasoline, there is only one place to put the blame: Barrack Obama.
