Another Obama Outrage -- Favoring his own Job over more jobs for America

Word is out that president Obama has "delayed" permits for drilling for natural gas and oil in the shale that is under Ohio for about six months. The reason for the delay given was that more time was needed to study the effect that the drilling might have on the Wayne National Forest. A recent estimate is that drilling in the shale in Ohio would create over 200,000 permanent jobs in that state in the next three years. Obama, however, acted in deference to environmentalists who oppose all drilling in the area, and, like the delayed decision on the Keystone XL Pipeline, this delay will probably take the decision with regard to drilling past next year's presidential election. So Obama is giving a big "F" you to those unemployed and under employed in Ohio who are struggling to make ends meet in order to avoid having to make a decision before the election.

This is an incredibly bad choice by Obama. The move is blatantly political, and it is designed to give something to environmentalists who form a part of his base. Obama just does not care about what is good for America, only about what is good for his re-election. And for those of you who think that maybe Obama is actually concerned that drilling in this forest will destroy a pristine vista of natural beauty, let me tell you that there are already 1300 gas and oil wells in that very forest and the land remains unspoiled. The energy industry has already made clear that it can operate in this very forest without harming the environment, so there is no need for the delay other than Obama's political fortunes.

But wait, you say, what about all that we have heard about hydraulic fracturing or "hydrofracking" as it is called. Won't the government look into that? The answer is no! The government announced that it new so called study "will focus solely on how it could affect forest land and not how it could affect groundwater."

A few more things should also be made clear here:

First, this move does not just affect Ohio jobs. Remember that each barrel of oil produced in Ohio would reduce American imports and keep funds in the US economy rather than that of Iran or Venezuela. Every additional dollar kept here means more economic activity and more growth and jobs around the country.

Second, this move will increase the federal deficit. Remember that oil and gas produced in a national forest results in royalty payments to the federal government. Even without enormous production, the government could get billions in royalty payments. Also, all those people with jobs will pay taxes and stop collecting food stamps, welfare and other payments from the government. The total effect could be very large.

Obama deserves major condemnation for this move. There is simply no serious issue to be studied with regard to this drilling that requires further delays. The only beneficiary of this move is the campaign to re-elect the president. The big losers are the American people, especially the people of Ohio. To put it in language that the Obamacrats will probably understand, "the needs of the One outweigh the needs of the many!" What a total jerk Obama is.

Obama has got to go!!!!
