Word comes tonight that the New York City police have arrested Nkrumah Tinsley, the man who said that Occupy Wall Street would use molotov cocktails to burn down Macy's tomorrow. Tinsley is charged with making terrorist threats.
In usual fashion, the New York media followed this news immediately with an explanation of why Tinsley really did not speak for the Occupy movement and should not be taken seriously. My favorite was the quote in the NY Daily News from an Occupy member named Storm Shrimp (you can't make this stuff up) who said that he (she?) had told Tinsley that "we don't want that here."
I am glad that the police captured this guy before we had to find out if he was serious about his threats. I am also glad that the secret service captured the guy from Occupy DC who is alleged to have taken shots with an AK-47 at the living quarters of the White House. In my opinion, it is time for the media to stop trying to glorify or even justify the Occupy movement. In the last two days alone, the Occupy movement has had more serious crime from its members than the Tea Party has had in its existence. These are not role models. These are not good guys. Their day is over.
