Iran near to Nuclear weapons -- Is anyone surprised?

According to the latest international report, Iran has now come very close to getting nuclear weapons. The media reports this as if it were a shock. How can that be? Anyone who has paid even the slightest attention to Iran over the last ten years knows that the mullahs have been working towards obtaining nukes during that time. During the 2008 campaign, Obama said that he would keep Iran from getting nukes through a program of outreach without preconditions. Of course, the Iranians laughed at Obama's approach since they do not care about whether or not Obama approves of them. Over the last three years, Obama has done essentially nothing other than talk about Iran. And for a president who does little but talk about things, he has not even devoted much time speaking on this subject.

If Iran is on the brink of getting nukes, the real question is whether or not anyone will do something to prevent that from happening. Will Obama take action in the hope that it will rescue his presidency? Will Obama try to get the Israelis to act against Iran after spending years trying to stop them? Will the USA just sit idle while Iran changes the dynamics of power in the Middle East? Right now is the time when most people should realize that it is sad that we do not have a competent president. My guess is that Obama has no idea what to do now.
