Here is the latest in the reporting about the Occupy movement and the reporters who seek to enhance its impact. I just heard a report on CBS radio about the "sea of humanity" that make up the "enormous" crowd of protesters in lower Manhattan near the stock exchange. That sounds pretty impressive. Just imagine, the protest was able to inspire a huge crowd to go downtown to stand in the somewhat rainy weather to make its views known. Then I read two other reports that each mentioned that "hundreds" had gathered in the financial district for the protests. Hundreds???? On any morning in that area, hundreds gather just waiting for the light to change so that they can cross the street (assuming that they wait for the light). In most of Manhattan, you could gather a crowd of hundreds by announcing a performance art showcase called "Eat a Banana" in which some person sat on a chair and ate a banana.
I have no idea if the number of folks who showed up for the protest is in the hundreds or if they actually got to 1000 people. I do know, however, that this is not a huge crowd, it is not a "sea of humanity" and the CBS Radio reporter was displaying bias and not reporting facts. But then again, what else would you expect?
