Rice a Phony

One of the most idiotic talking points of the last few weeks has been the ongoing attempt to portray those who oppose Susan Rice's possible appointment as Secretary of State as sexist or racist. There is nothing that indicates any opposition to Rice is based on sex or race. Instead, it is based upon Rice's intentionally lying to the American people about a terror attack that killed our ambassador and three others in Benghazi just so that she could help the Obama campaign. Americans have a right to expect someone like the UN ambassador to tell them the truth. Sure, she can slant what she says; everyone in Washington does that. But to out and out lie, like Rice did, is to go way beyond the limit of appropriate behavior.

By the way, it is worth noting that these same senators who are being accused of opposing Rice because she is a black woman all voted to confirm the last black woman named Rice who was named Secretary of State: Condoleeza Rice. But, of course, that is a fact, and those who throw around the accusations of racism and sexism do not want to be bothered with such trivial matters. Instead, they just follow the example set by Susan Rice and lie and lie and lie.
