Here We Go Again

In the news yesterday, there was a story out of Nevada that estimates that 90,000 people in that state who work for small businesses will lose their insurance coverage in the next twelve months as Obamacare kicks in for their employers.  That's over 3% of the state's population alone.  Add in their families who are also covered by this insurance, and the total surely goes over 5% of the people of Nevada.  On top of this, nearly all small business employees will see huge increases in their premiums as the new Obamacare rules get applied to policies that remain.  And who will be the people who bear the brunt of these higher prices and lost insurance?  The answer is the working poor and the lower part of the middle income group.  People who work in high paying jobs are much more likely to see their employers swallow the increases in order to keep their workers.  In jobs where the individual skills of people are not in such great demand, however, most employers will pass the additional costs through to the workers.  In Nevada, in particular, the group most likely to get thumped by the Obamacare increase is predominantly Hispanic.

So there you have it, the continuing truth about Obamacare.  A law that was poorly understood, poorly designed, and blindly passed by rich liberals is working to remove coverage from over a hundred thousand relatively poor people in just one small state.  Oh, to be sure, there were a few people in Nevada who picked up coverage in the last year under Obamacare and many others who lost it.  In the next year, however, the story will be all about those who work in small and large businesses and who lose coverage; there is no new group to gain coverage.  Assuming that president Obama does not once again illegally amend the terms of the law (a big assumption), by November, this newly uninsured group is going to take revenge on the Democrats who brought them this idiotic failure of a law.
