It is interesting to see the latest response from the Democrats to the decision by Speaker John Boehner to create a House select committee regarding the Benghazi attack. This morning, the Democrat minority leader, Nancy Pelosi said that the committee needs to have equal numbers of Democrats and Republicans for it to be bipartisan and for the Democrats to take part. Pelosi well knows that select committees like regular house committees have more members from the majority party than from the minority party. This has been the case with all recent select committees, even those set up by Pelosi when she was Speaker. As the Democrats used to like to say when they held the majority, "elections have consequences." One of those consequences is that committees in the House and Senate are both made up of more of the majority party than the minority. I guess what the Democrats meant was "elections have consequences if the Democrats win, but they have no consequences if the Republicans win."
Nice try Nancy.
Nice try Nancy.
