Tonight, for what seems like the first time, we seem to know where the phony youtube video story about the Benghazi attacks came from: the White House, Hillary Clinton, and possibly the president himself. Here are the facts that we now know:
1. Shortly before 5 o'clock Eastern time, an attack began on the American consulate in Benghazi.
2. Shortly after 5 o'clock Eastern time, president Obama was told of the attack during a meeting in the Oval Office with, among others, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs and the Secretary of Defense. Obama told them to take care of it.
3. The Americans on the ground in Benghazi understood very quickly that this was an organized attack by terrorists and not a spontaneous demonstration. First of all, the attackers had very good intelligence about the inside of the consulate including the location of the room where the ambassador would hide, the location of weapons, and the place where secret documents were stored. Second, the attackers came into the compound in a military formation and used military hand signals to coordinate the attack. Third, the attackers came with mortars and other heavy weapons; even in Libya, men do not go to demonstrations carrying heavy weapons and artillery. Fourth, when it came time to use the mortars, the attackers had perfect aim at their intended targets. Only well trained soldiers could be that accurate, and only trained soldiers who had planned the operation in advance would have had the requisite knowledge of the target to zero in so perfectly on their intended targets.
4. Word that this was an organized attack by terrorists made its way quickly up the chain of command. The local CIA reported this back to CIA headquarters in Langley Virginia. The local military reported this fact back to Africom (the US command for Africa) in Germany. The folks at the State Department also received these reports.
5. A number of staffers in the White House spent hours in the Situation Room monitoring the situation in Benghazi. Obama was not there although he was elsewhere in the White House that night. That Obama was in the White House is new information today.
6. By 3 a.m. in Germany, the commanders at Africom had concluded that this was an attack by Ansar al Sharia, an al Qaeda group. They had drawn up a list of targets (meaning people who were to be picked up in Libya) and had plans how to proceed both to end the siege in Benghazi and to get justice for those who had been killed. They were unable to proceed, however, because the State Department was dragging its heels. State would not decide how to proceed and Africom had to wait for State. 3 a.m. in Germany was 9 p.m. in Washington. The confirmation of this information is new today.
7. By 10 p.m. in Washington, both the White House and the State Department had been told by Africom that this was a terror attack.
8. At 10 p.m., there was a phone call between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. Obama may have been too busy to go to the Situation Room, but he took time for this call.
9. Right after the phone call between Obama and Hillary was over, Clinton released a statement to the media blaming reactions to the youtube video for the attack in Benghazi. She also condemned that youtube video. So there it is, the Hillary Clinton is blaming the attack in Benghazi on the youtube video even though all reports from the field say this is an organized attack by terrorists.
10. Four days later, Susan Rice is sent on five Sunday morning shows to tell America about how the youtube video led to the Benghazi attack and also that there was no credible evidence that this was a terror attack. In truth, all credible evidence said that this was a terror attack and no credible evidence indicated any involvement by the video.
11. Rice was prepared for her TV appearances by the famous talking points. These were drafted by the CIA and revised a few times. The final revision, however, was done at the White House. It was the White House that inserted into these talking points everything said about the youtube video. The White House also changed "attack" to "protest". The CIA deputy director who was involved in the first drafts of the talking points was shocked that the video was even mentioned. Some of this is also new today.
12. When the bodies of the slain Americans were brought back to the USA a few days later, Hillary Clinton condemned the video for causing their deaths and told their families that the government would get the guy who made the video.
13. Two weeks later, Obama spoke at the UN. At that time, he once again condemned the youtube video and said it did not provide an excuse for killing people.
14. When Clinton and Obama spoke (also when Rice and all the other Obama spokesmen talked) about Benghazi, the information from the field was clear that this had been an al Qaeda attack on Americans. Even if there was confusion on the first day (although there is no reason why that should be), by a few days later and certainly by Obama's speech over two weeks later, the actual facts were well known in Washington.
15. Obama had been running for re-election with the claim that al Qaeda had been removed as a real threat. It was "decimated" was his mantra. We were told that it was dead but GM was alive. It would have been very embarrassing for Obama to have to admit that there had been a brazen attack on the American consulate in Benghazi by this group that was supposedly destroyed. Obama, with Hillary Clinton's help, seem to have chosen to lie to the American people rather than to admit the unsettling and embarrassing truth.
Shouldn't the president of the United States care more about protecting Americans under attack than positioning himself for an election?
John Kennedy wrote a book called "Profiles in Courage". When president Obama writes his next book, what will he call it? How about "Profiles in Political Expediency -- or Lying for Political Advantage".

Do the US citizenry even care about the lies & deceptions of this administration. Since Bill Clinton, the culture seems to accept just about anything.
The mentality of our citizens = Lying is relative- It is a norm in our culture. Glad I am older & won't have to be here to see the complete degenerative results of THE LEFT.
Hard to live with now!!!
