Yahoo Finance did a poll about the reactions of the American public to the whole protest during the national anthem mess. Here are two key takeaways:
1. Over 60% of respondents said that they would be watching less football on TV.
2. About 55% of respondents said that they agree with President Trump's criticisms of the protests by the NFL players. Only about a third of respondents disagreed with Trump.
I have to say that I am not surprised by these results. Most Americans don't take kindly to people who disrespect the flag and the national anthem. That remains true even if President Trump criticizes those folks.
But wait. The mainstream media told us for days that Trump had made a serious error by denouncing the NFL protesters. It was supposed to be Trump's worst week ever because of his supposed NFL error. Now, when the people are polled (and by a left-wing media group no less), it turns out that once again the mainstream media was just wrong in its conclusions.
This was not something difficult to predict. My guess is that many in the media knew the actual facts. Why did they have to report Fake News?
