As the campaign ends, voters need to remember why the correct choice in this election is Donald Trump.
1. Trump has detailed plans that will restore growth to the American economy. His goal is to bring back growth of 3.5% to 4.0%, something that used to be common but which we have not seen since Obama took office. On the other hand, Hillary Clinton has a plan that will further slow the economy. She doesn't proclaim this as her goal, but any economist with a minimum education understands that this will be the result of her plans. We just finished a decade of slow growth; we can't take anymore without suffering permanent damage.
2. Trump will put a limit on illegal immigration; Hillary says she wants "open borders". Trump's efforts ought to reduce gang violence and drug crimes. Trump's efforts also ought to make more jobs available for Americans who work in lower-skilled jobs. They also ought to lead to higher incomes for those in poverty. No longer will illegal aliens work for less than minimum wages off the books. This change alone will bring major positive results for American workers. On the other hand, Hillary's plan for open borders will benefit all her big bucks contributors who want to keep the supply of low wage illegal workers around. Hillary says she is for the less fortunate, but, as usual, it is just another lie. g
3. Trump will get rid of Obamacare. Right now, Obamacare has resulted in there being health insurance for millions more Americans but at a cost of over two trillion dollars we don't have. The key, however, is that the insurance that people have gotten does not mean that they can now afford to get medical care. The rise of deductibles and copays has been so staggering that many with insurance still have to stay away from the doctor because they just can't afford it. On top of the major cost to the country, there is also an enormous cost to the people who earn just above the amount for which subsidies are available. In Connecticut where I live, a single person can pay as much as fifteen thousand dollars per year for insurance and then be faced with a deductible of another six thousand or more. The average person can't afford that. Trump has put forward a plan to get rid of Obamacare and replace it with a much less costly alternative. Hillary just wants more Obamacare.
4. Trump will run a coherent foreign policy. We've seen Hillary at work running America's foreign policy. She was a disaster as secretary of state. Everything she touched went wrong. There are too many problems in the world to have her back in charge. Trump has no experienece in government, but he has dealt with foreign governments for decades in his business. He has been a success there. He will certainly do a better job than Hillary.
5. There are many more reasons, but I will just put forward one more. Trump accomplishes things; Hillary talks about things but gets nothing done. How many times during this campaign have we heard how Hillary has fought for women or for children for the last 30 years? It seems more like a mantra than a campaign speech. The problem is that after 30 years of supposedly fighting for women and for children, Hillary has accomplished nothing, NOTHING. Despite what the Democrats want people to believe, it is not enough to have a leader who just talks a good game; we need a leader who can get things done. That's Donald Trump's calling card. Over the last decades, he has actually built his business; he didn't just talk about it. When he says he is going to get something done, it actually happens, usually ahead of schedule and under budget. The only way America can get back on track is with a leader who worries less about saying the right thing and worries more about DOING the right thing.
Vote for Trump tomorrow. The future of this country depends on it.
