the losing candidate in the South Carolina democrat primary for senate is seeking an investigation into certain purported irregularities in the results. The primary was won by Alvin Greene who was recently arrested on an internet pornography related charge. Democrats cannot believe that the voters actually chose Greene who did not campaign in the least. Nevertheless, Greene got over 100,000 votes and won by 59% to 41%.
According to the loser it is strange that Greene won on election day while he did so poorly among absentee voters. Really? That is not strange. Absentee voters were motivated enough to get their ballots and send them in early. these are folks who paid attention to the election. The voters on primary day seem to have chosen Greene since he was listed first on the ballot. He was running against a non-entity, so many voters just picked the first name on the list. Another supposed indicator of irregularities is that Greene got over 75% of the vote in 300 precincts. So? That is not unusual. It would be odd if Greene had gotten 75% statewide, but it means little in a truly non-contested primary. The sad thing is this, the losing Democrat and others like Congressman Clyburn think they can raise questions about the validity of Greene's victory. Well first remember, even without those 300 precincts Greene still won handily. Second, could there really be a statewide plot to put Greene into the election -- a plot that would require the cooperation of literally thousands of people to rig the election results in thousands of voting districts? No way! Third, there is no chance that Jim DeMint will lose to any Democrat this year. This whole thing is just another instance of how silly the Democrats really are. They see conspiracies not just where there aren't any, but also where there cannot be any.
