Mediaite is out with their list of the 25 most influential people in American media. It's a hoot and a half. Here's an example: the head of CNN is rated the most influential of all and the head of MSNBC is right up near the top. Following them many places behind is are the heads of Fox News. Think about that. Fox has ratings that are more than CNN and MSNBC combined, and for months now it has been the highest rated cable channel of any type. So who is more influential? Is it the head of the network that people watch or the heads of news networks that few pay attention to? Mediaite says the later. That's bad enough, but consider this amazing bit of information: Mediaite leaves out Rush Limbaugh and Bill O'Reilly from the list. Rush has the highest rated radio show by far and he basically lives in the head of most of the liberals in media. What he says carries more weight than nearly anyone. Indeed, a recent poll of Christian voters put Limbaugh at the number one position for most influential in the last election. Mediaite doesn't put him in the top 25; are they kidding? And then there's Bill O'Reilly. He has the highest rated news show for the umpteenth year on cable news. It's not straight news; Bill gives his opinions. We're supposed to believe that he's not in the top 25, but a long list of cable news people make the list. It's a joke.
The reality is that the list is just propaganda. The leftist media can't accept that they have become more and more irrelevant and they have also become more and more distrusted. It's sad that they have taken to telling each other how important and influential they are. They are just fooling themselves.
