Help for Herman Cain From Unlikely Sources

In the last day, Harry Belafonte, the far left former entertainer called Herman Cain a person who was "denied intelligence", a "bad apple" and "not a real negro". Belafonte also said that "prayers were not meant for people like Cain." University professor and frequent TV guest Cornel West said that Cain was smoking a "symbolic crack pipe". All this came in response to Cain's stated position that hard work and constant effort could overcome the remnants of racism in America. I have to believe that these comments will provide substantial help to Cain in his quest for public support.

Cain himself said in response to the comments that he had "left the Democrat plantation long ago" and that the only response that the left has to his position is to try to intimidate him.

The truth is that most people in the USA recognize that racism is not the problem that it used to be. Over the last sixty years, we have reached the point where nearly all vestiges of racism are gone. Sure, there are still some who hold views that are properly described as racist, but American society as a whole has moved on. Charges of racism have instead become just the normal politcal charged thrown out at anyone who disagrees with the agenda of Barack Obama. The Tea Party was labeled racist by these same folks who are now castigating Herman Cain. The entire Republican party was labeled racist by those who want to keep African Americans voting for the Democrats. This used to work well, but it has gotten old and tired. In November of 2010, many Republicans triumphed even after being called racist in their elections. The left is acting out the old fable of The Boy Who Cried Wolf. The charges no longer have meaning for most Americans. Why would anyone listen to the nonsense? Indeed, I think the last gasp of the strategy came when the Democrats claimed that the Tea Party demonstrators spit on and called names to a group from the Congressional Black Caucus who happened to walk through a demonstration with a large following of video cameras trailing behind to catch the "inevitable" racist rants from the Tea Party. When nothing happened, the Congressmen just made it up. Even though their entire trip through the demonstration had been videotaped and nothing untoward happened, America was told that the Congressmen were spit upon and cursed. It is, however, hard to argue with a videotape. The lies of these folks were revealed for all to see (except on MSNBC).

Right now, for millions of ordinary Americans, it is a badge of honor for Herman Cain that he is being castigated by the professional leftists. Most people do not know what Harry Belafonte did as an entertainer, but many know that he was a big supporter of the Castro regime in Cuba. It is strange to think this, but Belafonte is doing Cain a favor with his rants.
