Newt Gingrich's interesting strategm

On his website Newt Gingrich has a discussion of what he would do immediately upon becoming president. Sure, he is unlikely ever to get that chance., but that does not stop the master of ideas from telling us his plans. Newt's new Contract with America, however, is not the item that I want to focus on. Instead it is an area of his website where Newt asks people to leave their suggestions for executive actions he could take upon assuming the presidency. That's right, Newt Gingrich is asking the American people for ideas.

Gingrich's request for suggestions is refreshing. Basically, it is an admission that neither he nor his advisors are all knowing. Indeed, it makes clear that Newt actually believes something that he often says, namely that the American people are intelligent and wise. It is such a refreshing difference from the way that Obama and the Obamacrats treat the people; in their view Americans are near idiots who need to be guided at all times to do the right thing. In Obama's world, only government "experts" actually know the correct course.

Gingrich's request for suggestions is also unique. I have tried in the past to send ideas to presidential candidates. Usually, it is impossible to even find an e-mail address for the candidate. The only thing you can send is a contribution.

Gingrich deserves to be congratulated for his national suggestion box. It is another one of those Gingrich ideas that make Newt such an intriguing candidate.
