Last night, Tucker Carlson addressed the complaints of Cory Booker and some in the media that the failure of Kamala Harris in the Democrats' presidential contest was due to her being a woman of color. In other words, it was racism that did her in. Booker takes it further and laments that on the debate stage next time, there will likely be only six candidates and all will be white. That racism is the cause is Booker's conclusion. But here's the truth that Tucker Carlson pointed out. Harris got out of the race because she had next to no support in the polls. Booker is not on the debate stage because he can't get the minimum required numbers in the polls to qualify for participation in that event. And who is being polled? The answer is Democrat voters. So Booker and the pundits are accusing the Democrat primary voters of racism. The problem for Booker and the others, however, is that just under 30% of all Democrat primary voters are African American. Another big chunk are Hispanic or Asian American. If you have 45% of the voters being polled who are black, Hispanic or Asian and Harris was getting 3% in the polls, that means that more than 90% of the black, Hispanic or Asian voters were picking someone else. That's not racism. Not even Cory Booker can believe that with something just under 15% of the primary voters being black women, Harris was getting only 3% because she is a woman of color. Does Booker think that all these black women are racist?
At some point, one has to wonder if Booker and the pundits actually bother to think about what they are saying or if it is just habit.
