Last night there was another mostly peaceful protest in New York City. A group of about 150 people marched through lower Manhattan, broke windows, spray painted buildings and cars, started a fire and spread havoc. The mostly peaceful protesters caused an estimated $100,000 damage according to the NY Post. A number of the vandals were arrested and many were from out of town. The event had been advertised on social media by a group called the New Afrikan Black Panther Party. Police recovered two guns, some grenades and various burglary tools from the thugs, excuse me, the mostly peaceful protesters.
In an interesting twist, the thugs marched right by the home of NY City Council President Democrat Corey Johnson but somehow skipped breaking windows at his building. Johnson called for an investigation into counter protesters. Yes, that's correct, Johnson wants people opposed to the rioters to be the subject of an investigation. But remember, the Democrats are now "firmly against" the violent hooligans who have been rioting -- except they're not really.
Happy Labor Day Weekend, everyone.
