After seeing the video of Helen Thomas and her antisemitic rant last night, I started wondering what the reaction would be. This morning I have checked the web sites for CBS, MSNBC, ABC and CNN and found no mention of this story. There is also no story by the AP. The senior White House correspondent calls for the expulsion of Jews from Israel and their return to Poland and Germany and it gets no coverage. Fox had a story. So did the Huffington Post. So except for Fox, no major news organization even bothered to cover the story. Surely they know about it since it is the main headline on Drudge (which is, I suspect, the biggest source for news at some of these "news" organizations.)
I am also wondering what the reaction would be if Helen Thomas had called for all blacks to be expelled from America and sent back to Africa. Would there be silence then? We all know the answer. Indeed, if Helen had called for all Moslems to be expelled and sent back to Syria (or some other Islamic country), there would have been an uproar.
How can the mainstream media be so blase about blatant anti-semitism.
Simply put, it is time for Thomas to be fired.
