It just gets worse

It has been reported today that Iran has offered to send its military to protect "aid" shipments into Gaza. The spokesman for Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said the following on Sunday, "The naval wing of the Revolutionary Guard is ready to assist the peace flotilla to Gaza with all its effort and capabilities."

So what is going to happen? Will the Iranians send troop on the next ships? Will the Israelis stop those ships? Will the Israelis sink those ships? Will there be war between Israel and Iran? If there is such a war, will it force the arab statres to come in on the side of Iran? What will the USA do? Will we give aid to Israel during such a war, or will we leave them to their fate?

Of all times for there to be such a crisis, we are stuck with Obama as president. He does not have a clue as to how to stop this situation from escalating. Probably, he will call for a settlement freeze since that seems to be all he ever does in the Middle East.

The situation is very tricky. If the US sides with the Israelis, millions of arabs in Iraq, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and elsewhere will be very angry. After all, these folks are not told the truth about what happened with the flotilla. To them, it was an Israeli massacre. Indeed, it would not surprise me to see Turks and Syrians on the ships next time together with Iranians.
