There's a series of reports in the news that former vice president Joe Biden is planning to run for president in 2020. If elected, Biden would be 78 when sworn in in 2021. I know that America chose Donald Trump and he was 70 when sworn in, but 78? Really? Does Biden really think he has the stamina to be president? Would American voters actually choose a candidate that old?
Maybe my feeling that Biden would just be too old is wrong. After all, Bernie Sanders came close to getting the nomination of the Democrats and he would have been 76 on inauguration day if he had won. Maybe he will run again in 2020 and make Biden look young in comparison.
The truth is that if Biden and Sanders do run (or at least walk), we will get to see if voters care about age.
