The death of the Polish President and his entourage

The death of the Polish delegation to the memorial of those slaughtered in Katyn Forest during WWII is a terrible event. Imagine, the Polish President, the head of the armed forces, and a host of other Polish dignitaries and government officials killed in a plane crash in Russia while on their way to commemorate the killing of many thousands of Polish officers by the Russians over 60 years ago. My immediate thought was a suspicion as to whether or not the Russians did something to cause this disaster. I have to say that my suspicions were heightened when Russian Premier and former head of teh KGB Vladimir Putin immeidately took personal control of the investigation. How better to make sure that nothing is found than to control all those who look. Right now, there is nothing but history to indicate any Russian involvement in the crash, so Putin and his people get a pass unless evidence appears to prove otherwise. No matter the cause, this is a tragedy for a country that is now a US ally. Given that status, President Obama will probably decide to boycott the funeral/memorial service and send someone like the deputy assistant secreary of Commerce.
