Will we really do nothing?

Today's Jerusalem Post reports three items about Iran: 1) A high ranking cleric announced that if anyone attacks Iran, it will send missiles to Tel Aviv immediately in response; 2) Iran expects to receive the Russian S-300 air defense system despite any political pressure exerted by the West; and 3) President Obama says that as things now stand, a nuclear Iran is inevitable. Nothing here is surprising. The Iranians have long threatened Israel. The Russians have long treated Iran as a good market for their weapon systems despite all of the crazy rhetoric and actions coming from Teheran. No one has done much of anything to stop the Iranians from building their bomb.

Maybe my problem is that I have a memory of what took place just two years ago during the US presidential campaign. Am I the only one who recalls Obama saying that the way to stop the Iranian bomb and other misconduct by Teheran was to meet with the Iranians without any preconditions. Obama was going to stop Iranian misconduct just by the force of his personality. That was injecting hope and change into the US foreign policy. Apparently, hope and change of that sort do not work.

So now, Obama has accepted a nuclear Iran and focused instead upon the real enemy in the middle east: Israel. Obama pressures the Israelis to agree to Nazi - inspiried Jewish free zones in Jerusalem of all places. plots of land withint sight of the Knesset are classified by Obama as "settlements". The "settlement" that caused the uproar when Biden was in Jerusalem is in a location which was specifically exempt from the partial freeze imposed by Israel in response to pressure from the USA. It is in a location that no one ever thought would be part of a Palestinian state. It is in an area that is already home to hundreds of thouseand of Jews. And yet, construction at that location was enough for Obama to threaten the continuation of friendly relations between the US and Israel. So here is how it all turns out: when the Iranians build a nuclear weapon and threaten Israel with destruction the US under Obama accepts this as inevitable. When Israel approves constuction of homes for Jews in their capital Jerusalem strictly in accordance with the understanding between the US and Israel, it is cause for a near fatal rupture of American-Israeli relations.

Much has been said lately of the purported racism of the Tea Party protesters. No proof has been brought forward, but the media has been beside itself while hysterically repeating these charges. When Obama seeks to creat Judenrein areas in Jerusalem while demanding NOTHING from the Palestinians, no one dares mention anti-semitism and the media is silent. I say it is time for honest Americans to realize the truth about our President.
