Is it Discrimination?

Reuters is reporting a study in which it was determined that men in America are much more likely to die after contracting cancer than women. One factor noted is that in general men get treatment from doctors at a later stage of the disease than women. In a way, this is strange. I periodically see commercials on TV that discuss health issues directed solely to women like heart disease in women. It always makes me wonder why a discussion of heart disease is put forth in a gender specific way. Men have heart disease and so do women. Why not discuss signs that people should look for despite their sex? Maybe the real answer is discrimination against men. After all, for the last forty years, the liberal media has made the white male out to be the source of evil in this country. Women and minorities are all portrayed as oppressed, no matter what has actually happened. Now we see that this discrimination has actually caused the quality and efficacy of medical care for women to exceed that delivered to men. Maybe we should form a group called Oppression of Men Ends Now or OMEN for short.
