Obama is at it again

I just watched the opening statement and the first few questions of today's Obama press conference. I had to turn it off since I could not take the garbage anymore.

Amazingly, Obama said that he was waiting for Congressional leaders to give him a plan within the next 24 to 36 hours to resolve the problem. Huh? WHERE IS OBAMA'S PLAN?????? How can the president just sit there and criticize others for leaving a resolution to such a late date when he has yet to propose any solution. oh sure, he makes these speeches about shared sacrifice, but he never, never says what any of the rhetoric actually means. Indeed, the first question asked of Obama was whether he could tell the Americna people even one modification that he was willing to make to entitlement programs as part of a deal. Obama's answer was a classic. He spoke for four and a half minutes but never gave any specific that he could endorse. Apparently, Obama believes that he does better politically by giving no specifics or maybe by having no specifics. Obama pretends to be the "adult in the room" but with his strategy, he is neither an adult nor even in the room.

Obama then walked back the cuts that Democrats have "accepted". According to those who were in the Biden talks, there was a totla of 1.7 trillion dollars in spending cuts that were accepted by all parties "in principle". Obama said today that the number was one trillion and that the number included 400 billion in defense spending cuts. In other words, he took nearly all the spending cuts off the table.

The truth is that Obama is not serious about cutting spending. With such a critically important issue for the future, Obama is just playing politics.
