Is it panic?

In the last week, I have read to articles saying the Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg will step down soon in order to make sure that president Obama is the one who names her replacement. Of course, no one quoted Justice Ginsburg or even suggested that the story was coming from her. No, these were stories from the left that were meant to put pressure on Justice Ginsburg to step down soon. In other words, these were progressives who are afraid that Obama will be a one term president and who want to keep as many justices on the Supreme court as possible who are sympathetic to the progressive cause. Another way to describe this is liberal panic, panic that their hold on the federal government is about to be broken in 2012 in all of the elected offices, so they are trying to keep as many of the appointed ones as possible.
