A Huge Accomplishment -- Trump and the Regulatory State

With the first six months of the Trump Administration in the history books, it's worth taking a look at one of President Trump's biggest achievements: the reduction of federal regulations.  There's a detailed study of the rate of new regulations and removal of old regulations that is reported on today.  The results are not surprising.  In his first half year, president Obama put in place 24 more times the amount of regulations that President Trump did.  Further, during that same time period, Trump got rid of a huge number of wasteful and unnecessary regulations while Obama left essentially everything in place.  The Trump approach cut the cost to the US economy of federal regulations by tens of billions of dollars.  The Trump approach also sped up the ability of businesses to establish new investments and grow the economy faster.

In the long run, this change in federal regulation to get rid of the massive federal power grab that Obama pushed will have a very positive effect on the country.
