More Lies But It Doesn't Seem To Matter

Marco Reyes is a man who has lived in Connecticut for the last 20 years.  He came to this country illegally.  His case was adjudicated by a federal court in 2009, and Mr. Reyes was ordered deported from the country.  During the Obama years, Reyes somehow managed to stay in the country despite the order of deportation.  His claim is that he would be in danger if he were to return to Ecuador.  That claim has never been upheld in his case.

Today, Reyes was supposed to report for deportation.  Yesterday, Reyes took "sanctuary" in a church in Meriden.  I do not know if he showed up for his deportation this morning.

I do know, though, that our senator, Richard Blumenthal, denounced the deportation as showing the heartless policies of President Trump.  See, in Blumenthal's world, you are heartless if you enforce the order of a court issued after a full hearing and all appeals.  The fact that the President swore an oath to faithfully execute the laws of the USA does not matter for our senator.  He only wants certain laws enforced; others must be disregarded.

The funny thing is that under the current immigration policy followed by the Trump administration, Reyes would not be deported now but for the fact that the Obama administration went to court and got an order to deport Reyes.  Obama took those steps, but for Blumenthal, it makes Trump "heartless".

What a joke.  If Blumenthal doesn't like the current law, he should work to change that law.  No one, not even the president, gets to choose which laws are to be followed.  All of them are.  It's just that simple.

The truth is that President Trump is not heartless.  No, the real truth is that senator Blumenthal is "brainless".
