That so called "caravan" of Central Americans making its way across Mexico to the USA has abandoned its goal of reaching the USA. At least that is what the organizers of the caravan now say. The "refugees" are going to Mexico City instead.
The organizers thanked the Mexican government for its help, but that seems to be more a PR move than reality. Mexico is well known for deporting all those from Central America who seek to settle in Mexico. The Mexican government only allows those in who are traveling all the way to the USA.
While the organizers of the caravan denounced President Trump and claim that he failed to stop them, it seems as if the opposite is true. The president made this caravan a big issue with Mexico and even threatened to cancel NAFTA if the caravan were allowed to continue. The Mexicans stopped the caravan, but now the organizers seem to want to deny reality. Americans won't miss that reality, however. 1500 people who have no legal basis for entering the USA have been stopped from coming here. Once again, it seems as if Trump wins. The media may decide not to play it that way, but the truth has a way of getting out in any event.
