Mark Zuckerberg CEO of Facebook is speaking to Congress today. I say "speaking" rather than "testifying" because Zuckerberg is not under oath. That means if he lies or misleads the senators, there are no legal consequences for him. In other words, it's a total waste of time.
Should we really care what Zuckerberg says happened at Facebook when Cambridge Analytica got information about more than 80 million Facebook users? That was during the 2016 election, and the media and Congress are going crazy about the whole mess. During the 2012 election, Facebook GAVE the Obama campaign access to all of its data, and no one said a word about it. Why is it suddenly a problem when a third party gave access to Cambridge but it didn't matter when Zuckerberg's people handed over all that private data to Obama's campaign?
Just consider how many questions Zuckerberg is getting about 2012. So far, I haven't seen even one. To be fair, I haven't watched the entire hearing. I don't have that much time to waste on nonsense. Still, check out the news coverage tomorrow to see how much gets said about 2012. I'm betting the answer will either be "nothing" or "next to nothing".
