I saw an article this evening from the AP headlined "Republicans to File Fast and Furious Suit". It details the facts that the House of Representatives is going to start a civil suit against Eric Holder and the DOJ to get the documents that president Obama has withheld on the basis of purported Executive Privilege. It seemed an odd headline to me; the action was being taken by the House, not the Republican party. I went back to check to see the headlines when, in 2008, a similar suit was started to compel White House aides to testify in connection with the investigation into the firing of a few US Attorneys at the start of Bush's second term. Each of the headlines said that the House Judiciary Committee had started the suit; none identified the committee as "Democrats". Isn't it just like the main stream media to report things this way? When Democrats seek to enforce a subpoena, the are the majestic House Judiciary Committee. When the GOP is in the majority, the action is painted as a partisan political move.
