A Real Gas

About two weeks ago, I wrote a post regarding the total failure of the new anti-fracking movie "Promised Land" which supposedly shows the virtue of rural poverty compared to the evil of natural gas drilling.  The movie stars Matt Damon and, of all things, was financed by Arab oil money.  There is nothing like having a foreign oil producer put up the money for a movie that denounces the possibility of domestic energy production.  In any event, thing have gotten even worse for "Promised Land".  It is now no longer even grossing over $100 per theater screen.  For the last four days, the movie has played on over 1600 screens, but it has grossed only about $80 per day per screen.  If the average ticket price is just $8 (and it is likely higher), that means that only ten people per day are going to see this propaganda movie.

I love it.  Even with a big name like Damon, folks just are not going to see garbage like this.
