The special prosecutor has filed a recommendation that General Michael Flynn get no jail time for his "crimes" of lying to the FBI, failing to register as an agent of Turkey as a result of some work his firm did for the Turkish government, and the like. Remember, Flynn has seen his life and his reputation destroyed. He pled guilty to lying to the FBI in order to stop the cost of having to pay attorneys (which he couldn't afford). Indeed, the FBI agents to whom Flynn supposedly lied came to the conclusion that he had been telling the truth. Put another way, Flynn went down, but for things that no one on the other side ever seems to be prosecuted for.
Remember Andrew McCabe. The former deputy director of the FBI was fired for lying to other FBI investigators on multiple occasions. He hasn't been indicted.
Remember all those other Democrat politicians and Obama appointees who lied to Congress? There were Brennan, Clapper, Holder, Susan Rice, Samantha Power among others. And let's not forget Hillary Clinton. None of them were indicted.
So we have General Flynn getting off with no jail time. We have George Papadopoulos getting 2 weeks in jail for the "crime" he was forced to acknowledge (but still says he did not commit.) We have even Michael Cohen who really did commit criminal fraud in connection with his taxi businesses who now seems likely to get no jail time either.
So what was the point of this whole exercise by the special prosecutor. There has yet to be an actual crime the Mueller found that in any way connected to Russia or collusion. Getting a witness for "lying" to the FBI isn't the same as finding that there is any underlying criminal behavior.
Tonight's recommendation for Flynn is just further proof that Mueller's whole endeavor was a joke, a waste of time, a fraud.
