Today brought one of those moments which bring truth and clarity to the presidential campaign. First let me set the scene. Hillary Clinton decided to ride the subway in New York City this morning. She got on at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx and rode two stops north to 170th street, also in the Bronx. The plan was for Hillary to show just how much of a New Yorker she is, and what is more New York than riding the subway. At least that was the plan.
What actually happened was hysterical. Hillary couldn't get her Metrocard to work. For those of you who do not ride the New York subways, a Metrocard is the means by which one enters the system. You swipe your card, the system reads it and deducts the fare, and then the turnstile opens. It's just part of everyday life in the Big Apple. So Hillary took her Metrocard and tried to use it. Nothing happened. She tried again with the same result. Then came the third and fourth tries. At that point someone told her what she was doing wrong and she tried again. On her fifth attempt, Hallelujah! The turnstile opened and Hillary made her way through.
So what does this tell us about Hillary Clinton? Here's the answer:
1. Hillary does not care about the truth, only about appearances. There is no possible reason for Hillary to take the train for two stops in the Bronx. It was just a stunt to show her as a common New Yorker.
2. Hillary does not care if her publicity stunts cause chaos for real common New Yorkers. Just think how many people had their days disrupted by the Secret Service and other security for Hillary as she took her show trip on the subway. Hillary did not care. She took her unnecessary trip to nowhere and let all the "little people" pay the price for her photo op.
3. Hillary is a total phony. It was very obvious that Hillary has never used the subway before. She is no common New Yorker. She is a privileged lady who would never mix with the ordinary people on the subway. Just how out of touch she is showed clearly when she could not figure out how to get through the turnstiles.
