Here's the take on the Las Vegas massacre that a high official at CBS posted on her Facebook page:
“I’m actually not even sympathetic bc country music fans often are Republican gun toters.”
This was posted by Hayley Geftman-Gold, a CBS vice president and senior counsel in charge of "strategic transactions."
Think about that for a moment and realize that here we have an officer of a major media company telling us she has no sympathy for innocent Americans who were shot down in cold blood because they are likely Republicans who like guns.
I'm not going to denounce the insanity and inhumanity of this statement. Instead, I want you to consider what the media itself would do if a senior executive at an oil company said of the woman run down and killed in Charlottesville that he had no sympathy for her because she was probably a liberal tree-hugger. Imagine the outcry. Imagine how long that guy would keep his job. Imagine the media coverage. The oil company exec would be rightly castigated for what he said.
That makes the point, however, that the CBS vice president who wrote this disgusting comment on her facebook page deserves to be fired. If she wants to comment on gun control, that is her right. If she wants to favor Democrats over Republicans, that is her right. But when she applauds the murder of innocent people because they might be Republicans, she reveals that her soul is diseased and she must be fired.
UPDATE: As of ten minutes ago, CBS fired this disgusting woman.
